PetBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a new(ish) monthly subscription box for pets (dogs or cats) that allows you to select what items you wish to receive in your box! You can also opt for a “Surprise Me” box in which PetBox will hand-select your items for you. You can opt for a dog box, a cat box, or a combination dog / cat box.

The Box

PetBox ships via USPS Priority Mail. I love the box itself and think it may be one of the cutest pet box box out there!

First Look

I opted for the “Surprise Me” box for dogs so PetBox selected my items for me. I did fill out a profile however, which asked the size of the dog, age, etc.  Baxter and Buddy both weight under 20lbs and are 6 and 7, respectively.

The Information Card

Since PetBox is customized according to your pets needs, they do not have a traditional information card.  Here is what my box included:

~NoviPet Multi Vitamin ($11.99):  Regular use of these provides dogs with the vitamins and minerals they need.  I’ve never thought to give Baxter and Buddy vitamins, but in hind sight it seems like a good idea as I am hoping they live forever.

~Healthy Dogma Pumpkin Ginger Flavor Barkers ($5.95):  I love that these are mini sized treats!  L and WB like to hand out treats to the furries and sometimes hand out more than one, so the smaller the treat the better.  These are hard treats which usually the dogs don’t go for, but I think the fact that they are smaller may be more enticing.

~Earth Heart Canine Calm Spray ($12.98): I have received this in a prior box and I’m still not sure if it works or not?  It’s always works right at first because they are so weirded out by getting sprayed, but that eventually wears off.

~Sliders Tender Chicken & Cheddar ($9.95) & Sliders Tender Stikz ($1.66): It’s a good thing there is a picture of a dog on this package because had there not been I think the boys would have tried to snack on these.  LOL!  Baxter and Buddy tested the treats out and totally approved. I haven’t given them the stikz yet, but I can only assume that will be a huge hit too.

~Smoochers Chicken & Cranberry Recipe Dog Treats ($7.83):  Another hit with the boys! We used to get them some similar snacks from a fancy dog bakery near us and they loved them.

~Aussie Naturals Jute Duck Dog Toy ($12.99): Okay, so this didn’t have a tag on it, so I wasn’t sure what it was.  I guess it was a football with wings.  What?  Not even close.  It’s a duck.  I can see it now, but before? No.  It was a football.  With wings.  This will make a great tug-of-war toy for WB and Buddy (they play all the time) because it’s got lots of different places to grab on to.

All totaled I came up with a value of $63.35 for the December PetBox!  A great deal considering that boxes are $39/month (and drop down to $29/month with a 12 month subscription).  I was very impressed by this box and love that they allow you to make your own picks and to even opt for (and customize) a dog /cat box!
