The Little Thinker Box, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription service for children preparing to enter Pre-K or Kindergarten. Each month the child is sent a themed-based activity box that focuses on reading, writing, math, science, and other skills; using fun games, crafts, and experiments.  L is a little old for some of the items, but we had fun with it anyway.

Little Thinker Box ships via USPS Priority Mail.  It came before the holidays, but we didn’t get a chance to work on it until the last few days.

Everything was neatly packaged and I was very happy to see, that, when I looked a little farther into the package, that all of the projects were individually packaged and labeled!

Little Thinker Box includes  a general information card and projects include more detailed instructions if needed.  The December Little Thinker Box theme was “Winter Wonderland” and included the following activities:

~Snowflake Counting: This project involved placing the correct number of snowflake stickers on the winter pictures.  L thought this one was quite easy, but was also pleased to show me how easy it was for him ;).

~Big and Small Activity:  This activity involved placing the winter stickers in the correct category on the paper.  Again, L had this one mastered and was quite pleased to show it off.

~Snow Globe Sticker Scene:  L assigned this task to me and happily put put together the snow globe scene!

~Make a Snowman:    I really should start saving toilet paper and paper towel rolls for fun craft projects like this!  All we had to do was stick everything together and we were done!

~Winter Wonderland Chalk Art:  I don’t know why L’s chalk snowman was so sad, but he was not a happy guy at all!  This included not only the craft materials, but also magnets so that you can hang it on the fridge.

~Make Snowflakes:  As we were making this out of pipe cleaner I was like yeah, this isn’t going to turn out well.  But much to my surprise, it looks great.  At least I think it does.   It will be hanging in out house all winter!

~Snowman Number Matching:  These little flash cards / activity cards help with number recognition.  Again L was more than happy to show me how smart he was with this kind of stuff.

~Science Fun – Ice Melting Experiment: I am saving this project as a distraction during the next few days in case we get to bored.  L loves this kind of stuff, so I think it will be nice tomorrow when the fun of the snow day(s) wears off!

~Letter Formation and Letter Ornament:  This came with molding clay to make a letter ornament and to also practice forming letters.  It’s harder to make letters out of clay than one would think!  L and I decided to roll out the clay like cookie dough and cut our letter out.  It says to let the letter dry for a day, but I am going to wait longer before we decorate it just in case.

~Coloring Book, Puzzle & Snowman Matching Cards:  The box also came with various other projects including a small coloring book, cards, a letter tracing worksheet and more.  I am planning on having L work on the letter tracing tomorrow because he totally can use the practice on that!

It would have been almost impossible to do a cost breakdown on Little Thinker Box, but at $21.99/month I think it’s a great value. It had a ton of projects and kept us busy for a long time!
