My goodness, I was not expecting my January 2014 GLOSSYBOX in the today, but there it was, just sitting in my mailbox this afternoon! I was under the impression it hadn’t shipped yet (I didn’t get a shipping notification and it doesn’t say shipped), so this was a big surprise.
GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS. It usually takes about four days to arrive from NYC and I think that’s about right this time as well.
I save my GLOSSYBOX boxes every month, which is actually becoming a little crazy. I’m not really sure why I continue to save them, but I do. Every month. I do end up using them to gift things and the like, but do I really need them all? Maybe?
The spoilers for this box had me super anxious for it to arrive. And the first look? Amazing. I was excited to dig in and see more!
The January 2014 GLOSSYBOX theme was “Welcome to 2014” and includes items to make sure that you have the best skincare and makeup to start off the new year. Here’s what was included:
~Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash ($5.67): I didn’t think that the smell was anything to write home about, but it’s suppose to be “invigorating” which I could certainly use in the morning.
~The Original BeautyBlender ($19.95): I’ve gotten a few Beautyblenders here and there, but never a white one (it’s exactly the same as a pink one – except it’s white), but I love them and am always excited to get it! They do eventually need to be replaced (I think 3 months is about standard?) so I am thrilled.
~BellaPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush (Desert Rose) ($20): I don’t know if GB sent out different shades of this blush, but I am quite pleased with the color I received. I’m not sure if you can tell my the picture, but it’s full sized and is a very genius full size at that!
~Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray ($6.25): I am on a mission to try all the sea salt spray I can. I tested this out real quick and it smelled fabulous. What did I used to do before sea salt spray? My hair must have been sad.
~Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream ($9.18): It’s hard to really say what you think about a cream after trying it only for a day, but it did make my skin feel nice!
All totaled I came up with a value of $61.05 for the January 2014 GLOSSYBOX! I totaled loved this month and love love love all the new brands I get introduced to through GB! The box is $21/month, however I subscribed during some promotion so I pay only $17.85/month. I don’t know how they do it, but GLOSSYBOX always has an incredible value and always includes introduces me to brands which is amazing.
Did you get GLOSSYBOX this month? What’d you think of the box? What variations did you get (where they any this month)? If you are interested in signing up or just want to learn more, click here. And don’t forget to use the code “FANFAV” to get a free lipstick in your first box!
Ummmm love this! The BeautyBlender looks awesome!! I also can’t bear to throw away a lot of the boxes subs and other things come in. We are planning to move soon, so I can justify it!
It’s going to take a lot of GLOSSYBOX boxes to pack your house!
So far, no variations in all the boxes I’ve seen! Mine is still in the packing stage and I have no idea when it’s going to arrive. XD
Mine still said packing too I think!
I hope I get the same box! I am so excited for this to arrive! One question, does sea salt spray add texture to your hair? I have wavy/curly hair and I’m wondering if it will add volume? Does it help hold your style as well or do I need to use another styling product for that step?
My hair is soooo straight so it adds body to mine. It helps with frizz on my hair and gets it a little weight.
I want to sign up for this box for a year but I’m still on the fence. I love the box this month!! How long is the coupon code good for? I’m planning on signing up in Feb.
I hoard BeautyArmy boxes. They are made so well and my packrat boyfriend hides everything in them!
I’m not too sure. But they do have GWP’s quite often!
I got that sea salt spray in my Birchbox last month (or maybe two months ago) and I love it.
Ohh, I didn’t know it ever came in Birchbox! Now I have my hopes up that I will eventually get more.
oooh this looks like a good one ! especially mineral makeup and salt spray !
It was a great month!
I’d ordered a blender and cleaner from birchbox last month, so I wish I’d gotten this before that, but I tried it out for the first time and it’s interesting! My blush was desert rose too, and it’s not exactly a subtle color on my skin, but it’s applies nice and lightly so I like the product.
I’m looking forward to getting my box!!
It’s a good one!
I still haven’t received my box, but can’t wait to the sea salt spray!
I hope it comes soon!
I haven’t even received shipping notice yet!! It is the 27th!! Maybe their spoiler created too many orders???
I bet it’s coming soon!
Innnteresting…I just received my Glossybox today (1st time subscriber), and I received BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre Eau de Parfum instead of the body wash. The blurb on the card says, “Seductive, mysterious, and intriguing, BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre is a statement-making fragrance inspired by the effortlessly cool sensibility of the urban rocker woman.” I like it…it’s definitely not flowery. Smells pretty fresh and clean. I’m not sure how much is in here, (maybe a little less than an ounce?), but the full-size Bon Genre is $75.00 for 3.4 oz.!
The cleanser for the Beauty Blender is also a solid little soap, rather than a bottle of liquid cleanser.
That is interesting! I have never seen a Beauty Blender soap! Do you like it?
Haven’t tried it out yet! I had them ship my box to my work address, and so all I’ve been able to do is take a few peeks…my boss is highly perfume-sensitive, so I’ll have to really dig in once I get home. I can see the soap working out well…should be easy to just rub it on the blender to clean.
