Peach Dish, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a weekly meal subscription service. They deliver a box of fresh, pre-portioned ingredients and recipes to your home to make 2 three-course dinners for 2 people every week. They have revamped their service recently and I am loving it!
Peach Dish ships via UPS from Atlanta and took two days to arrive to me. Boxes shipped to the Atlanta area arrive on Wednesdays (one day), while boxes shipped elsewhere take two days and arrive on Thursdays.
Peach Dish has the fanciest packaging of any of the food subscription boxes out there. Everything comes in organza drawstring bags which make me feel like I am getting a present! The fresh produce and other ingredients are on top of the box and then the meats are packaged in individual envelopes with cold packs in them.
I should mention that you do not get to choose your meals with Peach Dish. That’s part of the adventure and you have to be willing to try new things (which we totally are). Here is what we received last week:
Meal #1: The first meal was Cheesy Ciabatta Bread (the appetizer) which we ate with Chicken & Wild Rice Soup. B was not overly excited about this meal, but I was dying for him to make it. It was just as delicious as I had imagined it to be and B was surprised at how totally filling this was and also loved it! I think he saw soup and thought it would leave him starving. But this was not the case at all. I totally want him to make this again. Dessert was Chocolate Mug Cake & Clementines which was also way better than B expected. Totally not his kind of dessert, but he went out of his way to tell me how much he liked this too. And of course, I also loved it.
~Meal #2: Our second meal started with Warm Farro Salad and Spice-Rubbed Flat Iron Steak with Roaster Cauliflower. I have never heard of Farro Salad before, but it was quite good! I could have swapped the cauliflower out for a different vegetable though, because no matter what B says, no, cauliflower does NOT taste like green broccoli. It does not. Dessert was Seasonal Fruit, which was grapefruit and apples. We ate dessert during the Globes last night and it was a great treat! I didn’t love this meal as much as the soup, but I would have this one again soon!
I am still loving the “new” Peach Dish and think that the changes Peach Dish has made since they started are for the better! The service is now $50/week (which works out to $12.50/meal) and takes so much of the workout of dinner time stress.
