Yay! My February 2014 Fancy Food Box arrived today! If you aren’t familiar Fancy offers not only their celebrity curated and original Fancy Box, they also offer a Fancy Food Box, which includes five or more food products – anything from cookies and chocolates to teas and sauces. It is also said to include “a selection of tasty recipes and pairing suggestions”, however, my recent boxes haven’t had that.
Fancy Box ships via FedEx and as always took two days to arrive. Unlike some of the Fancy boxes that ship late or on a wacky schedule (I’m looking at you Tyler Florence Box) Fancy Food Box is always right on time!
I attempted to look for spoilers online, but I had no luck, so my first look was totally blind! I was super excited but what I saw in the first look because I thought I saw something I have wanted for a while now!
The Fancy information cards are the same as always. The front has a picture of the items and the back has a brief description. Sadly this month wasn’t Valentine’s Day themed as I had hoped it would be. Maybe because Fancy has special Valentine’s Day Fancy Box? Not sure. But here is what was included:
~Fred Unzipped Glass Snack Bag ($20): Ahh, I have seriously been wanting one of these! I have no idea why, but I really have been. Something about them just draws me in! I am putting this in my office right away. Not sure if I will fill it with candy or some sort of office supply, but I am loving it.
~New York Naturals Sea Salt & Vinegar Kale Chips ($7.49): No matter how many times I have tried Kale Chips and how good other people say it is, I am just not a fan. The flavor sounds good, but I also thought that about the cheddar ones I once received!
~Chocolat Moderne The Lover White Chocolate ($7): I was expecting greatness from this one, but I didn’t really like it. The chocolate was good, but the passion fruit caramel filling just wasn’t for me. I would LOVE to try their Smoked Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Bar though. I bet that is incredible!
~Nunu Chocolate South African Amarula Ganaches ($8): Delicious! I loved these and don’t think I have had anything quite like them. They are VERY rich, but also very good! Amarula, if you are wondering, is a South African cream liqueur.
~Roni-Sue Beer & Caramel Pretzel Nuggets ($10): These are really really good, but also really really hard / crunchy. I would not recommend these after you just got a filling, but I would recommend them otherwise!
~Lala’s Nuts Bodacious Bourbon Walnuts (~$9.99): These are the only thing in the box I haven’t tried yet (I am going to let B try these first), but once he finds out they are from Wisconsin, I know he will say they are fabulous, no matter what ;).
All totaled I came up with a value of about $62.48 for the February 2014 Fancy Food Box! Not an incredible value, however, except for the snack bag I had never heard of any of the items in the box (I am pretending the kale wasn’t in there) which I loved!
If you are thinking of ordering this or ANY of the Fancy Boxes, click here! Fancy Boxes are $39 + $7.95 shipping, but you can always use the coupon code “FOLLOWUP10″ to save 10% on any Fancy.com, order, including subscription boxes. If you can’t find the Fancy Box you are looking for, I suggest just doing search for “Fancy Box“. It’s much easier than trying to navigate their site, which I find quite confusing at times.
I have that glass jar too!
It’s “thinner” than I thought it would be, but I love it. Do you have it at work? Are you in the country right now?
I enjoyed this month’s box. Everything I sampled was tasty. I tend to think the Fancy Food box is more consistent than the others Fancy subscriptions. I’ve been subscribing to this particular box for almost a year and I love the new trend of including a food-related item i.e. jars, cheese board, etc. (as opposed to all edible items).
P.S. Anyone else notice that Fancy is now adding tax to the monthly subscription price?
Oh, I just got billed for one, but I didn’t look. I need to check that out!
I think that liquor in the chocolate (Amarula) is what they use for the infamous Zebra Domes dessert at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. I haven’t had a chance to try them, but they’re supposed to be wonderful. I’ll have to look up those two chocolate companies. It’s so much fun trying new and exotic chocolate treats.
Oh, I need to look into that dessert!
OMG I want that Glass bag too!!!! I was just telling a co-worker last week I want to order one for my desk!! Now I have to its just so cute and keeping candy on my desk means I always have visitors! =)
It’s funny how we get excited over the most random things! I was all excited asking Bryan what i should put in it and he’s just like who cares?
I love that glass candy dish. I want one!
I love it!!!
