SundaySentiments

You know the drill, I am stealing Jen’s Sunday Sentiments button and idea and making it mine tonight.

~To say that it’s been a crazy week would be an understatement! My Grandma’s services were very nice and we all made it up-north and back home safely! The roads were crazy and they have a TON of snow up there. We all had a great time checking out the old photo albums at my Grandma’s house and I think everyone is excited about the old slides she’s got as well. And I am happy to report that L got to spend some time with his favorite cousin G and do some playing in the giant snow pile that was made for them!

~I also learned about the App “Tinder” while we were up-north.  My 20-something cousins were shocked we weren’t in the know about it.  Umm, it’s a dating app and we’re all married so that’s probably why I don’t know about it.  LOL!!!  It’s all based on Facebook pictures and if you swipe the person one way it means you are interested and if you swipe the other way it means you aren’t.  If you both swipe interested, you can start up a conversation.  I am now totally fascinated by Tinder and we were all super entertained searching for matches for my cousin.  Please tell me someone on here uses Tinder.  Because that sounds fun.

This would have been super fun about 12 years ago ;)

~Are the Closing Ceremonies seriously tonight?  How is that possible?  I am so planning on watching and I am also way too excited about the “Nancy & Tonya” documentary that is on right now! I remember being very concerned about this story.

~Because we consider things like this exciting, we went to the Grand Opening of the new Kroger near our house today.  It’s got groceries, clothes, a sushi bar, a Starbucks, pretty much everything.  And it was packed.  Like SO crowded.  I am totally looking forward to when the crowds thin out a bit more because this is going to make grocery shopping fun!

Think we got enough stuff ? LOL!

~I’ll do a breakdown of the Subscription Boxes I am expecting next week and the ones I am behind on reviews for tomorrow, but it’s fair to say to expect a lot of reviews coming this next week!

~Everyone seems to be pretty excited about this week’s Tupperware deal, so I figured I’d post it. You can get get a set of three Impressions Classic Bowls for $14 or a set of Microwave Cereal Bowls for $14!  Just go into “Shop” and then click on “Ending February 28th” to find the specials.  Check out the Online Exclusive specials as well because they have some good great for great prices there as well.

$14.99 / per set

~This week’s projects consist of working on the subscription box list ( will probably do a latest additions post later in the week), updating the Reviews page (I really want to revamp that soon), working on a PR Section and finally fixing my “About Me” section!  It sounds like a lot to do, but really I have just been putting it off, so it shouldn’t be too bad!

That’s about it from here tonight! What are your plans for tonight?

Clothes at Kroger? You have me intrigued. My Target opens March 9th and my new Harris Teeter around then too. I hope to go to the pre-grand opening days but that depends I guess on when it happens since I will be on a cruise starting the 9th 😉

A new Target? Ahh, that sounds amazing. They give away goodie bags!

I just learned about tinder too! Kind of funny. I guess it is all the rage at BYU-I (a local mormon college). Also, that Kroger sounds nice! We don’t have fancy grocery stores like that around here.

    1. Jennifer

It is fancy! And Tinder just sounds so fun!

I thought tinder was like for “meet-ups”. Wink wink. Not savory kinda stuff. But I’m a 31 year old married lady. So everything I know I learn from hbo shows. Lol

    1. Jennifer

Ha! I think it probably is used for both kinds of things!

I’ve been reading your blog for quite awhile (love looking at the pictures you post, your kids are too cute) and figured it was finally time to speak up when you mentioned tinder. I go to uni in DC, and honestly it’s become a pretty big part of campus culture. For me it’s a way to branch out and meet people I don’t see everyday at fraternity parties. However, it is still very much a ‘hookup’ app, which is part of the fun really because there is an underlying sexual tension. Once you have a match it’s a matter of being funny/interesting enough to keep talking with someone.
Anyways that’s probably my greatest expertise right now 🙂

I love it! I am so jealous that this wasn’t around when I was in college. I can totally see how much fun this would be!

I think they’re converting most Kroger’s to the Marketplace concept. We have an extremely nice one close to us, with the same thing Starbucks, sushi, etc. I like that around holidays they have activities. They’ve done hayrides in the fall, Easter egg decorating contests, etc.

That sounds fun!! I think they used to do a Halloweeen thing at our old Kroger, but not all that!

Ha my hair stylist told me about Tinder (she is probably 22 and definitely the target market). It does seem like a cool idea but is pretty reflective of the shallow, non-committal dating culture these days.. I was just thinking about the Tonya Harding thing the other day! I need to go to Wikipedia to refresh myself on the details. I hadn’t even heard anything about the documentary.

    1. Jennifer

      It was a good documentary!

Glad your grandma service went well and you guys are safely home. Never heard about Tinder…..I will have to ask my 20 year old daughter?
I love kroger! They have good deals. Love their bakery and fresh food area. Enjoy

    1. Jennifer

      Yes, ask her!

We’ve always had Kroger here, but never a Kroger like this! This one is so fancy!

Did you hear that all the olympic athletes were using Tinder to hook up with each other?! So funny! I’ve heard the games are usually just big orgies, so crazy!

    1. Jennifer

I have heard that too! That is so funny!

Wow, that looks like an awful lot of snow! Don’t miss that at all, so glad we moved south! Kids enjoy it, but I hated having to shovel the sidewalk again every time the snowplow went by. 🙁

The closing ceremonies were beautiful! And I loved that the planners had a sense of humor and poked fun at themselves about the glitch in the opening ceremonies! And the Tonya & Nancy documentary was really interesting. Poor Tonya! I didn’t expect to feel sorry for her, but she had a really rough life.

Have fun at your new Krogers!

I LOVED when they did that to the rings. I was cracking up!
