Currently Burning…
Bath and Body Works Summer Boardwalk. I love this scent and may or may not have stocked up at the end of year season before they sold out. Even though it’s 30 degrees outside, it’s like summer in my house!
Currently Watching…
Golf. I can’t explain it, but I like it. I just like it. Plus it’s looks so sunny and nice there and I am jealous.
Currently On My “To Do” List…
Our taxes. I need to get on the ball with those (see Mom and Dad, I am using my college degree) and making Disney dining reservations! Now that we aren’t going until summer, I feel like I have plenty of time to take care of this. However, I know that it’s normal to book super far in advance, so I still need to get to that.
Currently Excited About…
My Moxie Jean Order! It came today (it was like the only mail I received) and I am thrilled with everything. I got a Polo jacket, a Burberry polo, Hanna Andersson hoodie, Hanna Andersson pajamas, Janie & Jack shorts and more! I think it was all $100. Pretty sure that coat alone would run me close to that!
Currently Curious About…
MH370. What else. They say it’s in the ocean, but they are also hoping that there are survivors. What? What am I missing here? Anyone?
Currently Obsession…
I went to a bunch of TJ Maxx and Marshalls today and came up with a few more tubes of washi tape (which B lectured me about). I now “need” to find the other two tubes I have been unable to locate. I believe there is an aqua / red and a grey / mint one that I haven’t been able to find yet. I will though. I will.
Currently Anxious About…
I somehow cracked the trackpad on my MacBook and had to take it to the Genius Bar today. They can totally fix it (and it works fine even with the crack), however, it’s going to take 3-4 days to repair once they get the part in. WHAT? Ahh, that stresses me out. No computer for 3-4 days? How many you call me 15 minutes before you are ready to work on it, I’ll drop it off and then you call me and I will just run and come get it? That sounds better. But no, that’s not how it works. I’ll miss you MacBook.
Currently Plotting…
A Spring Break overnight trip. Maybe Chicago for a few nights?? If I can get the right price on a hotel, it’s on.
What’s currently going on with you?
Still love these posts. Yea for Washi. Just looked and mine opens at 11am tomorrow so I may see about stopping by. Yes make some dining reservations and then you can stop worrying about it 🙂 Let me know if you have questions.
I hope you can find it!!
Do you have suround sound, golf is amazing with it, the birds the swoosh of the ball , nothing like it. Ck groupon for your travels . Did you get to marshalls and tj in bloomfield and white lk? Is there any other consignments like thread up?
There are thredUp, Moxie Jean and Twice. I think one or two more but I can’t think of them off the top of my head.
I didn’t go to those two. Yet.
I’ve never been to Chicago but I’m going to a conference in May. I’m looking forward to it! The BF and I are staying an extra day and treating the trip as a mini vaycay. We’ll be there for 3 nights, staying at the Hyatt Regency on the river.
Oh, I love Chicago! You are going to have a fabulous time!
No luck with washi at our TJ Maxx, though I managed to find all sorts of other things I never realized I needed! I’m so sorry you have to go without your MacBook. I think I would be going crazy, too!
What’d you get?
A bunch of baby equipment–sippy cups, a steamer/grinder thingy. As we checked out I asked the (male) cashier about washi tape, and he had no clue what it was.
Great finds!
I will look for you at my TJ Maxx tomorrow 🙂 I owe you a package anyway 😉
Thanks! Report back!
the starwood hotels were running a special last on hotels in Chicago. $90+ a night. Sheraton, W, Westin, etc.
Where do I find out about this!
Groupon Getaways almost always have a deal for a downtown Chicago hotel. I would also check other daily deal websites.
Thanks!
I’m a novice…. What’s Washi tape used for?
I use it in my planner. There are tons of crafts for it, but I have never done any…
Thanks 🙂
Found the pink and charcoal washi tape at my TJX but haven’t tried Marshalls. I bet Home Goods would have them too. My excuse for going was I needed socks. No boon cups though.
Not sure I’d head to Chicago for Spring Break – we’re very slow to warm up over here! LOL!
I only found them at TJ Maxx, but I know others had luck at Marshalls / Home Goods!
That is such an awesome price for that washi! I am tempted to run out & loo, for it!
I hope you find it!
The T.J Maxx shout is hilarious. I used to travel too much. My best friend and I would always look for stuff each other. It was funny, I was in Hawii working and I found Marshall’s.
LOL! The one closest to my house is so clean and pretty. I guess I just had gone to the wrong ones before.
I live in Chicago, and could point you to some fun stuff. The city pass is a good deal for the major tourist stuff, but there are some hidden gems too.
Alternatively, have you heard of the St Louis City Museum? It’s a five story playground/maze/sculpture. I can’t wait to take my little guy there.
I have not heard of that, but it sound awesome!
We did the Sears Tower (or whatever they call it these days) and Shedd last time we were there. I don’t like to cram too much in, but I like to do something! What do you recommend!
Depending on when you go, there’s a water taxi that drops off at Michigan Ave. It’s only a couple of bucks for a boat ride on the river, with some great views of the architecture. I believe it’s free with military ID. They’re supposed to start running in early April.

If you want to go up another very tall building the Hanckock Observatory is on the top floor, and it’s like $15. OR…. you could go to the second-to-the-top floor for free and sip a fancy cocktail in the lounge, with basically the same view. Kids can go in until 7pm.
The Museum of Science and Industry is very cool, but it is massive. If you do that, plan a whole day for it. There’s a lot of interactive stuff for kids.
The Lincoln Park Zoo is free, but you pay to park. It’s a great zoo, with some nice Japanese gardens on the outskirts.
If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, go to Chinatown and get some Dim Sum, just not on a Sunday.
The St. Louis City museum is actually 10 stories, my bad. It is so fun. http://www.citymuseum.org/site/
Have fun!
I have always wanted to go to the Lincoln Park zoo! I think the kids would really like that. And a water taxi sounds great too! The kids would love that.
A friend of mine called last week for a character breakfast at the end of May and they were sold out. 🙁 They said all character meals were sold out.
Tell her to keep checking! People cancel!
