I was recently reading about a genius idea for a Girl’s Night In Party. Everyone brings their favorite product(s) that are equal to $10 – enough for everyone at the party – and at the end of the night you go home with an amazing goodie bag chock full of products. I need this to happen ASAP and I would end up picking one or two of these:
1. Jenna Hip Hand Cream: I don’t know if I love the hand cream more or the packaging more? They are both fabulous.
2. Sauve Dry Shampoo: I tell you how much I like their dry shampoo. It’s the best. Dare I say that it’s life changing?
3. Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-on: I discovered this in a Birchbox last summer and need to pick up some more soon. I like to have one in my bag and I don’t right now. It really helps with the puffiness and feels so nice when you put it on.
4. Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets: I cannot stand when my face is shiny. Even if I am just at home, doing nothing. I will pat it down right away!
5. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream: I have tried lots of different BB creams (and will be trying way more) and for the price, this is hard to beat. You won’t feel bad if you leave it somewhere while traveling, but it also does a great job on your skin.
6. Rosebud Salve: You can use this on your lips or anywhere your skin is feeling a bit dry. It also works as a diaper rash cream. For real. Who knew??
7. Essie Nail Polish: I always think of Essie as costing way more than $10, but it doesn’t. Still it feels like a treat to pick one (or two) up when you are at Target!
8. Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes: Speaking of a treat, wiping your face with these feels like a treat! And again, the packaging on this is gorgeous.
9. CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara: I want long lashes, but I also do not want them clumped at all. This does the trick! I throw away mascara before it’s all finished on a regular basis, so I hate to spend a ton on it if I am buying it at the store so I stick with something under $10 when I can.
10. Kiehls Lip Balm #1: This has probably been my #1 lip balm for, umm, almost 15 years. I actually need to go stock up. I do mix up what products I use, but this is my true love.
If I were going to / hosting a party, I’d have a hard time deciding what to bring, but I ultimately think I would end up with the Jenna Hip Hand Cream and then I would probably sneak in an EOS Lip Balm (which I didn’t include on the list but is a known favorite of mine) as well!
What would you bring? Would you do a full-sized drugstore brand or sample size of a more expensive product? What are some of your other favorites under $10?
I am in love with this idea. Thanks for sharing (:
Report back if you do it!
Hey cool, thanks! I have been hunting for a BB, the few I’ve gotten in Birchbox have been so greasy. I think I may go pick one of those up today!
Try it and let me know what you think. I like the drugstore ones because it’s not such a commitment!
Burt’s Bees regular chap stick!! I stock up on it when it goes on clearance in the holiday packaging at Target. I got like 10 tubes for $1.50 each. I LOVE.
That is a score!
I’ve never heard of this but it sounds totally awesome. I need to bring this up to my ladies next time we are together after our cruise 😉
Doesn’t it sound cool? I need to make this happen!!
What a great idea! Some of my less expensive favorites would include:
Burt’s Bees goats milk hand cream
Yes to Cucumbers Body Wash
Ohh, I need to check out that hand cream.
I absolutly love this idea!
Me too! I need to make it happen. It seems way more up my alley than a craft or ornament swap or something!
This is a great idea for a budget friendly bridesmaid gift basket :):) thank you for sharing this!!
No problem!!
YES! My friend threw one of these parties (a My Favorite Things party), and it was awesome! We actually just brought three of our favorite things, so each person left with three things–BUT, my amazingly resourceful friend had reached out to a ton of vendors in the area and asked if they’d be willing to donate things to the party, and a bunch of them actually said yes. So she had a bunch of giveaways, too. Basically the best party I’ve ever been to. You should totally throw one! For the party I went to, I actually brought a purse hook (for hanging your bag when you’re out places). It wasn’t beauty-specific stuff. Another friend brought spoon rests from Anthropologie. It would be fun to do a version of this with online friends. More mail surprises! 🙂
Ahhh, that sounds so fun! who is this friend? I want to be friends with her too!!!
Haha she’s a friend from back in VA, but I honestly think anyone could try what she did. She just had to promise so many people would be at the party, and she included flyers/little ads for some of the shops. It was surprising how many places were willing to give away free stuff to get their names out there!
It sounds like a great idea!
This is so cute! Such a fun idea! I kinda want to have a slumber party now!
Doesn’t it sound cool???
