PURE Subscriptions
Cost: $25/season
Ships To: United States.
PURE, who kindly sent me this box to review, offers a quarterly seasonal subscription service which sends you a few of their favorite full sized products that are perfect for that time of year.
If you aren’t familiar, PURE handmade artisan soaps and skincare products are made in small batches using only nature’s purest ingredients including sustainable, plant based oils and butters, locally sourced beeswax, all natural micas, clays and botanical additives and essential oils.
PURE ships via USPS Priority Mail. The package would have only taken two days to arrive, but it took three since my mail person skipped a day.
Inside the larger USPS Box was a smaller very well protected PURE box. I knew right away that nothing would be damaged in this box!
Since you are probably thinking it, I will go ahead and mention that yes, I too thought of something else when I heard “Box of Love”. But trust me, it’s nothing like that!
As you can probably guess, this box smelled pretty yummy! There was no information card included, but if you go online, you will be able to see a listing of everything included in the box along with the descriptions. Here is what was inside:
~Wooden Soap Deck ($4): Someone was just mentioning that in order to keep soap longer I would need something along these lines. This allows your soap to stay dry between uses which doubles the life of the bar.
~Grapefruit Soap ($4): Now that I have a good place to store my soap, there is no reason for me not to give bar soap a go. I always just have that image of slimy white bar soap and that’s so not what this is.
~Cherry Vanilla Lip Balm ($3): This smells great and goes on nice and smooth. And in case you wonder about things like this, it’s made with all natural butters, grapeseed oil, locally sourced unrefined beeswax, stevia based sweetener and essential oil.
~Lemongrass Lotion Bar ($8): At first I thought this was a deodorant and was meh on it. But I realized that no, it was a lotion bar and I love it. It smells amazing, isn’t messy and it super easy to use. Oh and it really works.
~Egyptian Rose Sugar Scrub ($8): I haven’t gotten a chance to test this out yet, but I love the idea that instead of a big jar you scoop into over and over again (which gets kind of gross), these are smaller one time use cubes. Just grab one before you get in the shower and you are set!
All totaled I came up with a value of $27 for the Spring PURE Subscriptions Box of Love. The box itself is $20 plus $5 shipping, so not only do you get a sampling of some of their best products, you also get your money’s worth!

I just traded for a lotion bar (my husband is in love with them) but lemongrass – I love!
I didn’t even know things like this existed before subscription boxes!
I saw this an immediately went and ordered that lotion bar {in Lavender}! I have been wanting to try one but every one I’ve come across just looked like bar soap. I love the push up style of this one, especially since I travel a lot and a 3oz tube of lotion just doesn’t cut it!
Report back on what you think!
I signed up and purchased this box. The website was a bit confusing but I think the shipping was free. Total cost for the Pure Box of Love ended up being $20. I have to stop reading your blog or I am going to go broke!
I agree, it’s a little confusing, but it’s a great box! I can’t wait to hear what you think!
Those sugar cubes sound amazing. I was checking out the website and with most of the things I picked out, I might as well get the box of love BUT they mention avocado butter in their push up lotion–I wonder if they might trade it out for me or if another scent does not have it?? Since this is a season box-do you know when their summer 2014 will be out?
I am not sure. Wouldn’t hurt to e-mail them!
I went ahead a facebook’ed them! they got back to me within minutes and will let me switch out for another product. i’ll have to ask them about their next box–I told them I heard of them from a blog and they asked who, so I passed your name along. Hopefully something good comes your way!
