~Monday oh Monday! We had a long weekend (which was actually even longer than it should have been because L was sick last week), but it’s back to school for L today. B is off though, so I think we are going to head to the casino (YES!) and then hopefully hit up the outdoor mall after picking L up from school. It’s suppose to be SO nice and they have a great outdoor play area for kids. Plus I need to go to Nordstrom. And Lush. And Sephora. Hopefully I win big ;).
~Our weekend was fabulous and included B’s birthday, WB’s birthday and then Easter! I don’t think we could have asked for anything better. The kids were healthy and in fabulous moods all weekend. And B got to work on his car and do stuff around the yard, so he was in a pretty fabulous mood as well. And when my boys are happy, I am happy! After a wild morning of hunting for eggs and Easter baskets, I spent WB’s nap time on the patio watching L and the neighbor kids play in the backyard. And we had Easter dinner at my parents which involved more egg hunting (we ALL hunt for eggs at their house) and prizes and family and yummy food. Why can’t every weekend be like this?
~I have an assortment of subscription boxes coming this week including Escape Monthly, bluum, Mantry, Haute Look Beauty Bag, Loot Crate, Hazel Lane and hopefully my Citrus Lane mystery boxes. And I also have a “few” reviews to get posted including Nerd Block Jr (Boy), Little Blast, Lip Factory, Fancy Mystery Box (yes, another one), Indie Gift Box, Homegrown Collective and Q BOX.
~Guess what today is? If you guessed the beginning of the Target after Easter Clearance sale you are correct! It will be 50% off today, then probably 70% on 2-3 days and 90% off 2-3 days after that. I am not in “need” of anything except for candy for my cousin’s graduation party, however, I am sure I will find stuff I never even realized I needed! I will try and remember to do some scouting at the store this week and I will see what the “hidden” (i.e. toys and things that you’d never know where Easter clearance unless you “knew” what to look for) clearance items are over at Slick Deals.
~Because I cannot go to the store without buying lip balm, I picked up an EOS Blueberry Sphere over the weekend. I think it’s my new favorite!
~Instead of trying to tackle organizing my entire house all at once, I am challenging myself to one bag / box a day. Every day I am going to throw away, donate or put away for a garage sale one bag of stuff. And this will continue until I am done! Lately I have been looking at some things wondering where I will even begin and then just giving up before I start. This is going to make it much much easier. And hopefully won’t be so discouraging!
~If you missed yesterday’s posts, you may want to check them out. You probably will really want to check out the “Cleaning Out My Closet” Giveaway post 😉 Just a few things I found that I didn’t even realize I still had.
~Can anyone recommend any good movies out on DVD? Or even a new tv show? I keep hearing all about Game of Thrones, and, umm, I have no idea what that even is, but from the looks of it, it’s not my kind of show. I am not a fan of sci-fi, fantasy and / or movies set in the future. I like things that could happen in real life.
What’s up for your Monday? How was your weekend? What subscription boxes are you expecting this week? And to everyone in Boston today, I am hoping for an amazing day for you all and will be thinking about all the runners and spectators! #bostonstrong
Have you ever seen the show “Veep”? It’s hilarious.
Nope. What channel is it on?
One of my favorite shows to recommend is Eureka. It is all on netflix. It was on the sci fi channel but its about a group of scientist geniuses who live in a small town and work for the DOD. Something is always going wrong and its hilarious. There are no monsters or anything like that, just some way out there science.
Chuck is a good spy drama.
Some of my other favorites are Leverage and White Collar – very similar feel to both.
Oh, I used to watch Chuck with my husband. I actually liked that one. Don’t tell him that though 😉
Oh my husband and I LOVE Eureka!!! So good. 🙂
I will have to look it up!
An older movie on DVD that I really liked is “Door to Door” with William H. Macy. We watched “Secretariat” yesterday. It was good, even if you already know the outcome!
Thanks!
Jennifer, I bought the blueberry acai (how do you even pronounce that?!) eos balm as part of the target Easter clearance this morning. That one and summer fruit were the two that rang up as clearance for me. I was iffy on the flavors (scents?) but I couldn’t resist the sale so I’m glad you like the blueberry.
Ohhh, that is good to know. I will certainly be scooping those out when it gets to 90% off 😉
So I am kid free this Thursday morning so I’m going to Target. Are we thinking it will be 70% by then? I’d love for it to be 90% but I think that will be to early for that one. I want to scoop out my new Target since its never busy so I’m hoping some goodies to be found.
Hmm lets see what shows? Did you ever watch Veronica Mars? Its free on Prime if you want to watch it. There were 3 tv seasons and then the movie just came out.:) Since I’m a Supernatural girl I don’t think most of my shows would interest you. LOL I do love my TNT daily with Supernatural and then Bones and Castle. I love me some Bones and Castle if you want a procedural type drama to watch.
I do think it will be 70% off then, so that is perfect.
I have never seen Veronica Mars.
Veronica Mars is about a highschool girl who is also a PI. There is an overarcing story but also a story of the week. Totally highschool fun and right up your alley. 🙂
I second Veronica Mars if you have prime. I have it on DVD and re-watch every year.
don’t know if you have Netflix but I stumbled on Stuck in Love with Greg Kinnear & Lily Collins and LOVED it!!!!!!! No fantasy or Sci-fi (though Game of Thrones is incredible) just real life family drama and love.
I don’t think I have seen that? I do have Netflix though. I will look it up.
Talk to me about Lush…Is it that amazing??
That is what everyone is saying! I am going to try and swing there today and pick up a “few” things…
I was just at Target on Friday and what did I pick up? An EOS lip balm! I love them. I think mine is Summer Berry but if they’d had Blueberry there at the checkout lane I would have picked that one since I haven’t had it before. 🙂
Every time I see one that I haven’t tried feel like I must get it. LOL!
My Target has candy only at 30% off, eggs, toys and decorations at 50%. THe shelves are full, so I don’t expect the markdowns to go down again for a few days. Do all Targets have the same markdown schedule?
It’s fairly standard. Usually 3 days at 50% off, 3 days at 70% and then 2 days at 90%. It’s been known to vary, but that is the general rule.
I am going to have to search my Target for that EOS! It sounds awesome.
They are on clearance if you find the ones without the packaging like I have in the picture. It’s a blue one and a red one just wrapped in plastic. The regular ones like the one I got are just by the normal lip balms.
I’m a big fan of New Girl! The first couple of seasons are on Netflix. House is now on Netflix and my fiance LOVES that show. I’m going to start the show Orange is the new Black I think! As for movies, I just recently picked up Saving Mr Banks. Its the story behind how Walt Disney wanted Mary Poppins and the struggles behind it. I’m a huge Disney fan so I loved it 🙂
Are you going to let us all know what you decided to get from lush and Sephora? 😉
I posted a picture of my lush haul! It’s on Instagram. I didn’t have enough time to really explore at sephora today. I may have to do that online!!
I LOVE Orange is the New Black. Totally recommend.
The Blueberry is the BEST! I bought a bunch because I was scared they were limited addition (but it doesn’t seem that they are).
They are part of the clearance at Target, but they seem to be part of the regular line too.
I’m thinking I need to hop on the eos lip balm band wagon. Where have I been all this time? If you have Netflix, Rescue Me is a great show.
Totally try it. It’s great. And lasts a long time!
I love all things fantasy and Sci-fi! I think it’s pretty amazing that the human imagination can create so much.
Game of Thrones is not for everyone. Eureka is pretty good, and Sherlock is fantastic if you haven’t seen that yet. The BBC version.
If you like pain, The Wire is fully depressing, but very well done. And unfortunately very plausible.
I have never even heard of Eureka! I will have to look into it.
I love Vikings on History channel and it super violent
Yet I live it. Kind of like a soap opera set in the Viking Era
Does Gavin like it??
