Ramblings of a Suburban Mom

Today I’m smiling because:

~We got both PopSugar Resort Box and April PopSugar Must Have box spoilers this week! Woot Woot! AND both boxes appear to be on their way to me, which is awesome as well. Next week should be fun (maybe there will be a giveaway here or two as well) ;).

~L has an ear infection (which doesn’t make me smile), but he’s already on the mend and didn’t even have to break his plans to spend the night at his Nana and Papa’s house last night. He also didn’t go to school yesterday, but it seemed pointless to drop him off after the doctor for lunchtime and an assembly ;).

Fun at the Grandparents!
Fun at the Grandparents!

~I am also smiling because we got to see my favorite doctor at the pediatricians office yesterday.  He is seriously the best and I am instantly relieved when I have a sick kid and see him walk in the exam room.

~Although my Spartans are out, I am still smiling about the Final Four which starts tonight.  I am now cheering for Wisconsin and would love love love to see them go all the way!

~B and I watched Anchorman 2 earlier this week and I am still laughing at how funny it was.  It’s clearly not going to win an Oscar, but it was my kind of movie.

So Funny

~After nearly a year and a half, I FINALLY got my haircut yesterday!  And it wasn’t that bad.  Then again, I didn’t schedule another appointment before I left either.  On a side note, if I did my hair with a round brush every day, it would look fabulous. #neverhappening

~It’s Spring Break in MI and I am loving seeing everyone’s Spring Break pictures!  Michigan is headed south and it’s being well documented on Facebook ;).

~WB has been talking more and more (and we have been understanding more and more) and that kid is a trip.  He’s a wild one.

Yep his shoes are on the wrong feet. Nope. I didn't notice.

~B doesn’t know it yet, but we are going to TJ Maxx (and Starbucks) this morning ;).

~We have fun plans for tomorrow to go to a dinosaur exhibit in the D!  L is going to love it!!!

That’s it from here!  What’s got you smiling today?

Ahhh I am so tempted to look at your PS resort spoilers. I made my husband look at them and reassure me I’ll love it. (His response: “Um. I dunno. Maybe.” Super helpful) I still want to be surprised, but I am SO anxious for this one! I still can’t track by reference for this or April, so hopefully they haven’t forgotten about me! Yay for you getting a haircut! I was super diligent pre-baby but am more like every 5-6 months now. Mine gets so stringy if I don’t get it cut. Enjoy your trip to TJ Maxx! Sounds a little like you’re cheating on Target. 😉

    1. Jennifer

Just cheating on it a little ;).

People on MUT seem happy with the box. The value is high.

  2. um, really, a year and a half? the last time i did that was oh, in 2001. then i met my forever stylist, shane. i miss him. every time i go to boston i visit. shane says i am never allowed to have long hair ever again because it’s gross (and its true!)

    1. oh but my hair hasn’t been cut since december because how am i supposed to go to a hair salon??? i need to go home or vermont to do it.

      1. Jennifer

        You could get a sitter!

    2. Jennifer

LOL yes. It was bad, but not even nearly as bad as it should have been for 1.5 years. I think she was shocked it had been so long.

I know we have our favorite peds too. When I’m making a well visit I request mine but when we do sick I usually just take what they have. Of course we normally see a women (my fave) but due to snowy changes N ended up with a man and when we left he said he really liked the boy doctor and wants to see him next time. I guess we’ve moved into that phase of our life now. LOL
I go to a hairdresser in Clt by my mom. It works since my mom can then watch the boys and she will usually squeze me in. She is expecting her 3rd kid so I need to get down there once before she has the new one. I need some summer highlight.

    1. Jennifer

LOL! The pedi we like is male. For sick visits though I will see anyone in the office. I was lucky to get our fav at a great time for the sick visit!

My girl was telling me about some glaze she can do that would just make it shiny. I need to look into that and maybe an ombre to keep it easy.

My Popsugar resort box is actually at my post office, less than two miles away, but I can’t get it until Monday. :(:( I spoilered the April box, so I am trying very hard not to do it for this one.

    1. Jennifer

Ahhh, you are so close to having it!! I hope you can do it!

I’m smiling because I finally got that wall decal everyone was getting! XD Haha, my second women’s Fancy mystery box came today and even though the shipping said it was only 0.1 lb, I still got it in a box! Ended up with a punishment box this time around… china glaze nail polish, head scratcher, bath salts, and the wall decal. Oh well. Hopefully my second men’s Fancy box will be better (it weight 0.7 lb but I don’t believe that it will come in a box…). Still can’t wait to see what you get in your $40 mystery box!

    1. Jennifer

You had to get the decal. Everyone must have one who orders a mystery box! I can’t wait to see what’s in the men’s one!

      1. Iris

I’m going to try and return the entire box for credit. XD They sent me a return label in the box and I asked the livechat person on Fancy if I could and he said if I had a return label… then I should be able to.

What made me smile today? Sunshine! It was 50 degrees when we drove home from a nearby town with a Target (!) and a cute riverside downtown with little shops and nice places to eat. We ran into a young woman we hadn’t seen in years — my son’s one and only babysitter, and enjoyed all sorts of time out in the warmth. No coats!

    1. Jennifer

That sounds great!! And I can totally appreciate how amazing 50 degrees feels after this winter.
