Dear PopSugar, My goodness, 6.1 pounds for the Summer Fun Must Have box? What is in you? I cannot wait to find out! I have my fingers crossed for spoilers soon!

Dear L, I am so excited to watch you at Field Day today! You are going to have so much fun! And hopefully they still give out ribbons because you are going to flip out if you get a ribbon!!!

Dear Fear Factor, What ever happened to you? Why aren’t you on tv anymore? I used to get so nervous watching, yet I did love watching you.

Dear Ice-Cream Man, Where are you? It is driving my kid crazy that you have not been down our street ONCE yet this year. Ahhh, come soon please! We know you are out there, we can hear you!

Dear My New Neighbors, You seem cool. I like you already. This was determined on the fact that you have little kids and that we went to the same college. That’s all I need.

Dear Flight 370 Families, I am so sorry they appear to be no closer to figuring out what happened than they were months ago. I just don’t get it.

Dear B, You are the best. You always have so much on your plate yet you just roll with it. I need you to teach me some of your tricks!

Dear Buddy, You are the worst helper ever. You cannot stand where your dad is trying to dump dirt or dig dirt up. You get filthy and it drives your dad crazy because it takes twice as long to do everything. But you love it.

Dear WB, Once L is out of school for the summer, you be able to sleep in and take as long as an afternoon nap as you want. I know it sucks getting woken up all the time and I know you love your sleep! Only a few more weeks little man!

Brace yourself: I’m about to let you in on a little secret. I know where the ice cream man shops! Down by the airport, there’s a small, slightly sketchy building surrounded by old ice cream trucks up on cinder blocks. (Okay, I’m making that part up, but…) You can pick up a dozen or 2 dozen of your favorite treats for a fraction of the cost. I can get you a price list if you are at all curious.

I am cracking up! It’s something about getting food off a truck that L likes. We could easily go to the store and get a popsicle much cheaper. But no…….

Well…of course. We were always told that it was a music truck, so I have no real comprehension on the matter, but I sense it’s a big part of childhood.

N has field day today too. I am not going so I hope he has a great time. It was all he talked about yesterday when I picked him up. He couldn’t wear his new shoes, he had to pack a change of clothes since there would be water, he needed sunscreen before he left for school. LOL I hope he has a blast!!!
I agree on the sleep. N is a sleeper at night anyway and getting him up everyday is no fun for anyone. He is 6 going on 16 and would stay up all night and sleep all day.

There was a lot of preparation for field day! They were setting up at the school at 6am!

Oh man, the ice cream truck! I miss that thing! I used to steal change from my brothers when I was a kid and chase it down the road! I wish we had one near our neighborhood!

I wish ours from last year would comeback! The Kona Truck has come down our street before too. That is a fancy truck!

So my 6.1lbs popsugar summer box o’luv has shipped! Sooo excited…I’ll be sitting on my porch 24/7 until it arrives!

      Eeek!!!

I LOL’ed at your “we can hear you” comment! I too heard the ice cream man today, playing “It’s a Small World” up and down the street. What I need most is some serious shave ice (no “d”–how I was raised to call it in Hawaii). That is probably my favorite part of summer! Also, I seem to remember our ice cream man growing up giving free ice cream on birthdays. Is that a thing everywhere? Seems like kids could try to con him…

Gosh, I don’t think our ice-cream man does that? L would never try to scam, but he’s only 6. Maybe in a few years. LOL! They call it “shave ice” in Hawaii? I never knew! Interesting! We have a Kona truck that comes by sometimes!
