Ramblings of a Suburban Mom

Today I’m smiling because:

~It’s gorgeous out. Totally gorgeous.

~My Facebook page is at 5,000 Likes! I am so excited about it and there will be a giveaway next week!

~I got my Cocoa and Hearts pineapple painting yesterday!  I think I like it even more in person than I did in the pictures.   I *almost* want another one (or two).

Love it!
Love it!

~L finished his morning work every day at school this week!  He’d been having some trouble because he’d been too busy socializing, but he’s back on track.  Go L!!

~L’s teacher gift (Erin Condren teacher planner) came yesterday and it’s perfect!  I can’t wait for L to give it to her!

~B and I spent all night sitting out on the patio just talking with the neighbor and enjoying the nice night.  And we’re planning a repeat for tonight!

The Fire!
The Fire!

~I made it through yesterday without cracking and drinking a Diet Pepsi.

~The boys and I went out for ice cream after school yesterday.  It was so messy, but they had so much fun!

Ice-Cream!
Ice-Cream!  I have no idea why those cones are so big??

~L loved his first ever Field Day yesterday and I had a great time volunteering at it!  Love watching all those kiddos cheer for each other!

That’s it from here!  What’s got you smiling today?

I don’t know about those Cocoa and Hearts paintings. At least it’s not one of those awful swatch paintings that sells for like $100. I guess I just don’t get it haha. Obviously I’m missing something though, because her paintings are always sold out! To each their own!

I don’t think you are alone. My husbands always like for real??

The weather is gorgeous today and will be all weekend and my younger daughter’s 8th grade dance (semi-formal) is tomorrow night and I’m so glad it will be sunny and beautiful. (I’m not smiling about what I spent on her dress because after trying on and rejecting about 50 dresses my last nerve was throbbing and I couldn’t take it anymore and spent way more than I wanted just to get out of the mall!)
My younger daughter graduates on Thursday from 8th grade and my son’s last day of school is on Friday so he’s so excited to be out of school.
I’m trying to stop a diet coke addiction as well (ew, diet pepsi! lol) I think I’m down to 2 a day but hopefully will be able to kick the habit soon.
And tonight my husband and I are going to crack open a bottle of wine, sit on the back patio and watch our deer come up to eat–relaxing day for sure!

I am cracking up. I can totally see myself doing something similar at the mall. I bet she’ll look beautiful!

2 a day isn’t too bad. I’d be happy if I could just do one a day. However I have no self control so that is hard for me.

I’m really glad you did not drink a diet Pepsi–I am cheering for you! I have heard stories from friends about how much better they feel after they quit drinking it.

    1. Jennifer

I quit about once a year and then get sucked back in. I just love it so much

Saw you and the fam today at Tons O’ Trucks!

Silas was scared out of his mind! Too much honking. He climbed back in the stroller. Haha!

    1. Jennifer

Ha!!! It was crazy there!!! We waited in line forever for L to get his face painted!

Stay strong on the Diet Pepsi! You can do it! I just ordered my Erin Condren planner yesterday. It should ship on the 6th. I didn’t order mine this early last year and it came after school started and I never did get everything filled in. This year, I took advantage of the promo code and will get it early enough that I can fill in things throughout the summer.

      It’s just so delicious! LOL.

I started her teacher one in August. I thought that would work??

Haven’t had an ice cream cone in over a year, so think that would be the perfect way to welcome summer! I gave up soda awhile back, but am slowly being sucked back into Sodaland because I’m getting tired of iced tea. Need to find a new way to get my caffeine!

I drink Spark when I am not hitting the Diet Pepsi bottle. And coffee. But I don’t love iced coffee and like cold drinks, so spark it is.

  7. that may be the first one of those paintings i like!!! and if you ever go to vt during the summer (i’m not saying you should, but if you do), you have to get what they call a “creamee” which is an entirely stupid name for a soft-serve. they are all gargantuan and really cheap. i’m talking about 6 inches over the cone for a small.

    1. Jennifer

Ha! I am cracking up that you said “i’m not saying you should”!!! I will totally find a creamee if do!

N loved field day too. He says his favorite was the popsicle and using chalk on the circle.LOL you know its the small things in life.I want a chiminea. I always have and we’ve never gotten one.I may need to get M one for fathers day 😉 I’m sure it is what he really wants. LOL

    1. Jennifer

It is the little things! The entire school had a pizza party with soda and ice-cream / popsicles after field day, so something tells me that was his favorite part. LOL.

  9. Morgan

I love that Cocoa and Hearts painting! If only I had the money to buy it. Oh well! Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Jennifer

If I can scoop one up in the next open sale, maybe I will give one away!
