Eeek! Look what I have! It’s the June Socialbliss Style Box! One again the kind folks over there asked if I wanted to do a sneak peak reveal and I jumped at the chance! I was super curious to see what they’d do for June and couldn’t get this open fast enough today!

If you aren’t familiar, the Style Box by Socialbliss, is a brand new fashion, lifestyle and accessories box.Boxes contain items which may be featured on the Socialbliss site, along with others that are emerging hot items not yet available to the public. Boxes are $47.90 ($39.95 plus $7.95 shipping) and promise a monthly value of at least $100.

Socialbliss ships via USPS Priority Mail and generally takes two days to arrive. I used to not love when shipping was extra for a box, but I love that these get here so quickly after they ship!

I’ve been checking out the Socialbliss Facebook page hoping to get some clues on what was in this month’s box and kind of had a few guesses based on pictures they posed.  When I opened the box I realized that my guesses (well some of them) were right!

The Information Card

The June 2014 Socialbliss Style Box theme was “Boho Chic” and was defined as “A Creative.  Open-minded thinker who loves in a free spirited life and believes in style, freedom and love.”.  Here is what was included:

~Fated Bliss Kimono Wrap ($50): This wrap was made just for Socialbliss by Fate. I am totally fascinated with the number of ways this can be worn and am dying to see what people do with it.  The information card shows it as a wrap, a scarf and a vest, but seeing how people style it is going to be amazing.

~In.. Retro-Specs Sunglasses ($15): These are described as retro cat-eye sunnies, but I just consider them fabulous oversized black frames.  I would buy these on my own in a second.

~The Peruvian Warrior Ring ($20): This ring, which was handcrafted in Peru, isn’t necessarily my style, but I think it fits nicely with the theme.  I have a friend who I know will love this so I will be gifting it to her.

~Magnetic Charm Nail Polish by Essie ($11.25): As soon as I saw Socialbliss post on Facebook about magnetic nail polish I just KNEW that it was going to be in this month’s box.  And I was thrilled when I saw it in here.  The information card gives instructions on how to apply this which I thankful for because I had no clue how to do it.  I plan to work on it this weekend!

~Ulta Pretty in Pink Lip Pout ($8): I have never tried Ulta lip gloss before, but I was quite happy with this.  It was a bit sticky, but for $8 I would totally buy more.

~Bonus Gift: The Creme Shop Sponges: Socialbliss had a promotion code (around Memorial Day maybe) that gave new subscribers (or current subscribers who applied the code to their account) a bonus gift.  I love that they let current subscribers apply these codes and I always always apply them (I got sent this to review, but I also have my own Socialbliss account)!

All totaled I came up with a value of $104.25 (I used the prices listed on the information card) for the June 2014 Socialbliss Style Box.  We’ve gotten purses / clutches since the box started, but I don’t know that they ever specified that we’d always get bags so I am cool with the change this month.  And I am even more curious to see what they do next month!

Phew, my subscription ends with this box, and now I won’t feel bad letting it fade away. The ring is my taste, but the rest will be donated or trashed as friends are already sick of my beauty castoffs.

    1. Jennifer

Are they really sick of it?? Have you ever had one of those parties where everyone bring a few things they don’t love and want to trade??

      1. Laura K

I’m the only person in my circle that does sub boxes, and blue polish has a limited audience. LOL. I’m drowning in so many samples that I’m using fancy face creams on my hands, and I’ve given my stylist 8bottles of polish.

  2. Lauren

Hmmmmmm I don’t know.. I think I like it!! I’m sure when I have it in my little hands I’ll be super happy! WAY better than last month 🙂

  3. Gina G

Can’t wait to get my box to play with that wrap! The pattern is really cool. On first look based on your review, I would say I like every item, and the box was well worth the sub price 🙂

    1. Jennifer

I am so curious to see how everyone styles the wrap! I am not stylish enough to figure it out myself, so I need to see everyone else’s!

  4. Jodie

Hmmmm…It’s ok. I don’t find anything that’s making me excited to get the box. I have felt that way the last two months and for practically, $50 a month, I should be excited about something in the box. I feel like it’s a lot of local drug store finds. I think I need to cancel and move on …..

    1. Jennifer

What box are you thinking of trying next??

      1. Jodie

I’m going to go with Sugar Pop Must Haves …. I feel like it’s consistently solid. I like to give boxes a min of a 3 month chance. Lately, Ispy and GlossyBox have been solid for me. Now just trying to find a Lifestyle box I love.

  5. Wanica McNeil

I love the preview, esp in the middle of the month, during my box drought. I’m not boho at all, but if they were going to do,glad it’s summer. I kind of see the ring and the wrap thing working with summer dresses.

    1. Jennifer

I can see it totally working with a black dress!

      1. Jillian

I also think it would be very cute with a pair of white skinny jeans and black tank top 🙂

        1. Jennifer

          That would be very cute!!

  6. Kate

Love the ring! I think I can work with the wrap. The glasses are cute, if they don’t work for me I am sure I can gift them to someone else. MUCH better this month Social Bliss – May’s box was such a disaster I almost cancelled but something made me stick around another month. While I don’t think this can compare to earlier Social Bliss boxes – the February box was my favorite subscription box ever, with March running a close 2nd. But this is a big improvement over May and even April. Can’t wait to get it!

    1. Jennifer

I am going to post a better picture of the wrap in a few minutes!

  7. Liz

As long as there are no variations on the ring and glasses, I will be pleased with this box. But, not delighted. And for $50 I want to be delighted. The sponges look like they are from the dollar store (like the spa kit last month.) Plus, I have no use for sponges and don’t really understand what they are used for (I know it’s makeup related.) I didn’t subscribe early enough to get the purses and wallets they were sending. Looks like I missed that honeymoon phase where new boxes are trying to look desirable. I got sucked in by reading reviews and now I’ve had two months of okay stuff. I think I’m done. But, I’m not feeling ripped off or angry or anything (like I did with the Her fashion and Her fitness boxes that were full of trash.) I’ve gotten a few pieces I’ll keep forever, so I’m happy I tried it out. But… I’m done now.

  8. Reese

I like it. This is a nice array of useful, fashionable items. On a subcription box scale, I would say it is slightly below Popsugar’s limited edition box (though, half the price) and way better than Her Fashion Box. It looks like SB is back. And, I think I will roll with it. Thanks for the sneak peek!

    1. Jennifer

I need to post a better picture of the wrap! Mine doesn’t really show it well!

  9. Andee

Sunglasses bum me out. Really unfair to the demographic of people who have impaired vision and can’t wear them. Hope these sell on eBay. Sigh.

    1. Jennifer

      ;(

  10. Jill

Interested in seeing the wrap and sunglasses in person. I think everything else will go on a swap site. I was really hoping for a beach tote!

    1. Jennifer

Ohh, how awesome would a beach themed box be? Beach towel, beach tote, sea salt spray, sunglasses!

      1. Jill

I would buy that in a heartbeat!!

  11. Cheryl

Looks like no bag or clutch this month? I was starting to look forward to getting one every month lol!

  12. Gina H

I’m up in the air on this one, but I’ll just have to wait and see it in person (it’s always so much different!). The sunglasses are cute, but absolutely useless to me–mine are prescription, and I value being able to see. My sister or SIL will love them, though. Is the Kimono wrap more like a scarf or does it actually have arm holes to make it like a vest? If the latter, I think I could pull that off.

    1. Jennifer

      It has arm holes!

    2. Amie

It is more like a poncho. I have two from Raj Imports that are similar. You basically put your arms through the holes and then arrange it it where you feel comfortable. I would call this a shawl or poncho.

  13. Stacey Morris

Oh man, I was scared to subscribe to this one because I’m not a purse carrying kind of girl (I have been using my Popsugar Summer Pouch non-stop since I got it for all my stuff) – but they had that sale and I went for it and I love every single thing in this box except the nail polish (not a nail polish fan either). I cannot wait for mine to get to my house! Can you please tell us what the material of the scarf/wrap/super cool fabric thing is?

    1. Jennifer

It’s 100% polyester. Very soft and silky feeling.

  14. DaisyK

This does not feel “Boho Chic” to me at all…it feels tired and frumpy. So glad I canceled…just wish I had canceled in time to miss this box. I’d rather go back to PSMH, which can be equally “meh” but at least the items feel higher quality (not bargain bin).

    1. Jennifer

      Hopefully you can trade!

  15. Karen

This is perfect! I love everything in this, especially the pattern on the kimono. How does it look on? I can’t wait for my box to come!

    1. Jennifer

Well I haven’t quite figured out how to style it yet!

  16. Got lake

I’m sure glad I canceled my subscription to this box after the awful box last month

  17. melissa g

I saw a lot of negative comments on MUT about this box but I actually like this box and I liked last months too. Im very happy with it… I would rather not get a box with a pocketbook/bag like we did in March & April that isn’t real leather – Id prefer a cloth fabric than imitation leather. I don’t expect real leather in a box that costs less than $50 a month though… The wrap/scarf will come in handy; the sunglasses are so cute and Ill keep them in my car for a spare as I am always loosing and/or forgetting sunglasses. I love the ring! Its so different than anything I currently have.
As for last month, I loved that serum! After about 3 days I really did notice a difference in my skin and I thought it fit well with the box…. plus the wipes were handy and I got soooo many comments on the (navy) “change purse”

  18. Jenn

Got mine today, my first month and I’m very disappointed. My glasses are awful cheap tortoise and gold that don’t even go with the other stuff. Worse, the ring (I got the black one) while I like it is misglued, so the stone is crooked. .. looks like someone then tried to pry it out to fix and chipped the stone. 🙁 So all in all a bad experience.

    1. Jennifer

Ugh. I am glad I got the solid black sunglasses. You should e-mail them about the ring though!

  19. Sarah

Have you figured the magnetic nail polish? I’ve tried twice since getting my box this afternoon haha and even though I’m loving the silver nothing that resembles snake skin is showing up!

    1. Jennifer

Not yet! I will try to do a nail today though and see what happens.

  20. Kacee

I am seriously debating canceling my subscription. The items the past two months have just been OK and are not worth the nearly $50 a month this box costs me. I love the sunglasses this month but they are something I could have got at Gabe’s for $3.99. I love my other subscriptions and cancelled my Wantables to keep this. I’m thinking about switching back but as soon as I do I know the July box will be awesome. What to do?

  21. Kiersten

My wrap is brown…I much would have rather gotten the black and white one. I don’t wear brown very often at all! I can probably make it work but not as easily as i could the black and white one. Has anyone figured out how to make it the actual wrap? I put it on and it just looks like the vest version…

    1. Jennifer

I am thinking just don’t use the arm holes??

  22. Tirz

Ugh super lame. Don’t wear foundation, the gloss smells so strongly of chemicals I’m nervous to use it. The sunglasses are sooooo cheap I would be embarrassed to re-gift them; so an enemy. The wrap is a poor quality fabric though is a clever idea in theory. Nail polish is pretty teenage goth. And although I only wears rings occasionally at least it’s unique. Majorly disappointed.

  23. Lynne

I came in here looking and hoping for spoilers for July… A girl can dream, right? In reading these reviews I just had to say that I LOVED June’s box. It had just enough in it that you could add a couple staples and be pulled together. A vneck white tee, jean shorts, tall black gladiator sandals, the “wrap/vest”, the sunglasses, the polish, it was pretty close to a whole outfit! Added a necklace from PSMH summer box, grabbed last month’s coin purse which IMO is more the size of a clutch, and out the door I went! I have a prescription for glasses but use these shades when I wear my contacts. Would I have gone out an bought these on my own? Probably not. Am I glad I got them? Absolutely! Turns out the ring is a fave now and my girls all want one. We love that it isn’t perfect… Adds to the handmade charm and def makes it boho. The vest can go with lots to create different looks and the shades are fine. The polish in the deep red I will use more in the fall, but it was a fun change from all the brights. I loved it!

    1. Jennifer

I wish we could get some July spoilers!!!
