Space Scouts - Month 1
Space Scouts – Month 1

Space Scouts, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription program designed to engage your child in fun learning activities, hands-on discovery, and exciting challenges. Space Scouts is recommended for those 6+ years of age.

Space Scouts - Month 1
The Box

Space Scouts ships via USPS.  I received both Month 1 & Month 2 of the subscription so you’ll be able to see what comes in the first kit, as well as, what you can expect going forward.

Space Scouts - Month 1
The Information Card

Space Scouts includes a general information card in your first box.  The Space Scout characters are Roxy and Jet who guide your children on monthly adventures.  Here is what  was included:

Month #1:

Space Scouts - Month 1
The Lunch Box

Everything in Month #1 was contained in the cute Space Scouts lunch box.  You can use it to store your monthly activities or to pack your space snacks in!

Space Scouts - Month 1
Sticker Scramble

~Sticker Scramble: I personally love sticker scrambles and so does L.  I am saving a few of these activities for his Quiet Time boxes and these sticker scrambles are one of them.

Space Scouts - Month 1
Wikki Stix Craft

~Wikki Stix Craft: I have never seen Wikki Stix before, but I think I need more.  They are sort of like pipe cleaners in that you can bend them and shape them into whatever you want, but these are also sticky.  They stick to paper and other surfaces and also to each other.

Space Scouts - Month 1
Puzzles

~Puzzle Sheet: Another Quiet Box project!  L will easily be able to do the puzzle but may need a little help reading the answer. Although it’s actually shocking the things he can read now and the way be figures out what something says if he’s not familiar with the words.

Space Scouts - Month 1
Constellation Card

~Constellation Card: Each month also includes a constellation card.  The first month’s box has the cover page and ring so that future cards and easily be added.  I love that they thought ahead of a way to store these together so they can be easily referenced.

Month 2:

Space Scouts - Month 2
Space Scouts – Month 2

As I mentioned I also received Month 2 of Space Scouts to check out.  Since it’s a bit different than the first month I appreciate that they included it so you can see what you’ll be receiving.

Space Scouts - Month 2
The Envelope

Subsequent months are also shipped via USPS and fit inside a bubble envelope.

Space Scouts - Month 2
Constellation Card

~Constellation Card: The constellation for Month #2 was “Ursa Major” & “Big Dipper”.    We don’t live in a huge city, but it’s still hard to see the stars at night here.  But up-north it’s much easier and we’ll be looking for these with our cards soon.

Space Scouts - Month 2
Sticker Scramble

~Sticker Scramble: This sticker scramble is also going in a Quiet Box!  I am thinking that these would also be fun thing to make for a scavenger hunt.  I could make a clue into numbered pieces and make him put them in the correct order to find the next clue!

Space Scouts - Month 2
Gravity Rules! Challenge

~Gravity Rules! Challenge: When I opened the package I couldn’t figure out what the grabber was for.  But when I read the card it all made sense.  It acts as the robotic arm on the space shuttle and helps astronauts move around, repair the shuttle, etc.  L loves it.

Space Scouts - Month 2
Craft Sheet

~Craft Sheet: The final project this month was a craft sheet were you draw yourself in as a astronaut.  L hasn’t done this one yet so I will add this to a Quiet Box as well!

Since this is a craft / activity box I can’t do a cost breakdown for Space Scouts.  I think the price ($11.95 + $3 S/H) is quite reasonable and I like that it combines learning, as well as, fun activities for your children.  If you are interested in ordering or just want to learn more, click here!

This is a cute box. We love Wiki Stix here. There is a restaurant here who gives them out with the kids menus instead of crayons. They are awesome. Hmm now I want to go for dinner there. LOL maybe this week. 😉

My little guy would love this. I’m glad they gave it to you for a review.

My son used to love Wikki Stix when he was little. There is a local restaurant that gives a pack of them out with childrens meals instead of the ever ubiquitous crayons.

Why don’t I have a restaurant like that around here!
