When I was trying to remember what subscription boxes were still coming this month I totally forgot about the June 2014 Tyler Florence Fancy Box! It was a nice surprise when it appeared today.

Just in case you aren’t familiar, Fancy, which is $39/month plus shipping, has a “regular” Fancy Box full of cool goodies and celebrity curated boxes which include a collection of the coolest products hand-picked by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Verbal, Kelly Rowland, Coco Rocha, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, Nicky Hilton and / or Tyler Florence. They also offer a Fancy Food Box (which is one of my favorites), as well as, Fancy Mystery Boxes.

The Box

Fancy Box ships via FedEx and always takes two days to arrive to me. This was the first time I have received a Fancy Box which didn’t come in one of their actual Fancy Boxes. I know it sometimes happens, but I have always gotten the signature Tyler Florence Fancy Box for his boxes and the brightly colored Fancy boxes for my other ones.

First Look

I could tell from the first look that this month’s box was jam packed with stuff!

The Information Card

There was no stated theme to the June 2014 Tyler Florence Fancy Box, but I thought it felt very grill / barbecue themed to me.  Here is what was included:

~Corn Holders ($6.22): I wish they would have picked a more unique set, but we can always use corn holders so they will do.

Corn Holders

~Condiment Squeeze Bottle (~$5): Tyler Florence suggests using these for your “homemade sauces”, but umm, we don’t make any homemade sauces.  What I really use these bottles for is for making sidewalk paint for the boys to play with.  It’s cornstarch, water and food coloring and I just let them squeeze it out of the bottles onto the sidewalk.

~Stainless Steel Scraper and Chopper ($7.31): I have always wanted one of these.  Not so much to use to chop veggies and stuff, but I was thinking more to cut brownies and also to scrape things off the counter.  I always love when they do that on those cooking shows!

~Grill Brush & Scraper ($9.42): Totally a B item.  I don’t do any of the grilling (I can’t even turn it on), but I do know that it needs to be cleaned after you cook.

~Basting Cup & Brush ($15.98): Very smart!  Even if you don’t make your own marinades, you do often need to brush them on and this built in holder is genius.

~Outset Digital InstantReed Thermometer ($11.50): I feel like we already have one of these, but I am not totally sure about that?  Maybe this could be our outside one.  Or we’ll take it up-north.

~Stainless Steel Skewers ($10.72): This totally reminds me that we haven’t had kabobs in forever!  Hopefully when B gets home we will be able to fix that and use these at the same time.

All totaled I came up with a value of $66.15 for the June 2014 Tyler Florence Fancy Box.  I used current Amazon prices for the items and they use retail prices, so I’m sure that’s how they come with their $80+ value. I thought this box was nice, but nothing jumped out and wow’ed me.  Everything is useful, but not anything overly “Fancy”.

Did you get the June Tyler Florence Fancy Box?  What’d you think? If you are thinking of ordering this or ANY of the Fancy Boxes, click here and get on it! You can always use the coupon code “FOLLOWUP10″ (sometimes this seems to work and sometimes not) to save 10% on any Fancy.com, order, including subscription boxes. If you can’t find the Fancy Box you are looking for, I suggest just doing search for “Fancy Box“. It’s much easier than trying to navigate their site.

I like this box and think it has a good theme for the summertime. I’m not sure I understand the concept behind Fancy. Most boxes don’t strike me as being Fancy. I agree that nothing jumps out as being amazing, but overall if one enjoys barbecuing this is a good box. I think I am a little nervous about the Nicky Hilton box. Hopefully it will be good.

I was considering subscribing to this one, but after seeing this most recent box I’ve changed my mind. Nothing seems especially “fancy” about it–it’s all very ordinary and generic to me. I’d like to have the chopper/scraper, but that’s about all. Oh well, this saved me some money!

    1. Jennifer

I thought the same. This one wasn’t “fancy”. I like when TF throws stuff in from his own line!

Nice box of goodies. And hey guess what in addition to these corn holders I also have Mickey ones 😉 I mean why wouldn’t I have Mickey corn holders. LOL Those are the ones the boys always pick for their corn even though they don’t eat the corn.

    1. Jennifer

Ohh, I wouldn’t mind Mickey ones! How cool!

  4. Brandy

I canceled mine – they stopped sending TF stuff. Like to me wouldn’t the oxo or the kikkerland or tovolo holders have been better? Or a cob butterer?? I do buy condiment squeeze bottles. We make our own honey mustard sauce for the kids. Little addicts.

Also I love the Rachel Ray scraper! I like the ideas behind the items but not what they chose.

    1. Jennifer

I mean couldn’t we get some fun little character on the cob holders or something???

  5. Ashley

I have one of the scaper/choppers. It’s perfect for cutting chunks of Lush soap into bars and for breaking up bath bombs and FUN!

    1. Jennifer

I never even thought of that!

  6. Lynsey

You can buy all this stuff in to max for about 20 bucks and you can get 3 of the squeeze bottles In walmart for $2

Put your dessert sauces in the condiment bottles…like your chocolate sauce, your caramel sauce, raspberry sauce. Just drop them in some hot water to soften and really it makes it really easy to put the sauces over cookies, ice cream etc. Much more control than trying to spoon it out of a jar.

    1. Jennifer

      Ohh, that’s a great idea!

I got a totally different TF box! Maybe it’s because I live in Canada but mine was awesome…had an apron, grater, aerator whisk, avocado slicer, cookie cutter and a wine holder. That being said, the description card did not match half the items in the box. Rough month at Fancy?!?

    1. Jennifer

Ohhh, yours sounds great!!! I am jealous. Although I feel like I have gotten most of that before.

  9. Amanda

My box was totally different – herb savor, aerator whisk, easy-press, mini burger press, juicster. I think it was all stuff from last year when I wasn’t subscribed. Looks like they are trying to clean out the warehouse of old products. I cancelled, I wanted some neat stuff from Tyler Florence and maybe 1 food product of his a month. I’m a little disappointed.

    1. Jennifer

      I wonder what’s going on??

  10. Katrina

You can also put pancake mix into your squeeze bottles to make fun-shaped pancakes. 🙂

Do you have any spoilers for July? I was a little disappointed with June’s box and cant decide if I should stick it out through July.

    1. Jennifer

I’ve never actually seen a spoiler for one of the celeb fancy boxes.
