Wrapped Up
Wrapped Up

Much to my surprise, the actual Founded 1776 box was wrapped in fun dot paper! I loved unwrapping it and it really did seem like a present in the mail since it was all wrapped.  The information card noted that the paper was from Norman’s Printery which is located in New Jersey!

First Look

Love the first look!  I liked the one item I saw and was anxious to unwrap everything else!

Founded 1776 doesn’t have a monthly theme, but the first ever box included the following items:

~Freaker Baberaham Lincoln ($10): How cute is this?  B will so use it with his beer.  I don’t know what the story behind the name of it is, but it certainly cracked me up.

~Runyon Canyon Apparel Signature Woodsy Brown Bandana ($12): I like the colors, the print, everything.  Only I don’t exactly know what I am going to do with a bandana.  If I had a big dog it would be perfect.  Maybe I will try to do a lunch on a stick with it and wrap up the kids food in it.  L went somewhere once and did that and got such a kick out of it.

~Gropener Pils ($16): Another B item foe sure.  This is a serious bottle opened and I feel like it’s best left for a grown-up (aka B) to manage.  I have never seen anything quite like this and think it’s pretty neat!

All totaled I came up with a value of $38 for the July 2014 Founded 1776 box. This is slightly under the total cost of the box of $40 ($33 plus $7 shipping), however, had I added in shipping on these items I am certain I would have gotten to well over $40!  Plus I have never seen any of these items before which I love!

What do you think of Founded 1776?  This box is still available online and the next box will ship on 10/4 (then 1/3/15 and 4/4/15).  I like this one as an idea for the person who has everything.  I bet they don’t have any of this!

I haven’t heard Baberham Lincoln in a long time. It was a line from the first Wayne’ World movie.

      Yes!!!! That’s it!

I just binge-watched Shark Tank on an international flight. Freaker was featured on one of the episodes. If you saw the founder of the company, you’d know the origin of the name. Lol. If I remember correctly, he was homeless for a while, and he started knitting those things by hand. He didn’t get any money from the sharks, but looks like he’s doing very well for himself nonetheless!
