First Look

The past few months Lip Monthly has sent out some discontinued products which I know not everyone was thrilled about. This month they had said that this was not the case, so I was excited to see what they were sending!

The Information Card

The July 2014 Lip Monthly featured a combination of the following more well known brands and some niche brands you may never have heard of before:

~Appeal Cosmetics Lipstick ($22): The Information card says that this is “Red Light District”, but mine is actually “Mock Up”.  I got this exact same color in this month’s BOXYCHARM, so I hope my sister-in-law loves it!

~City Color Cosmetics Lip Balm (Mauve) ($2.99): It’s got a bit of color and at $2.99 a pop, it’s not something you would be super sad about losing.  It’s always awful to wake up after a night out and realize that you lost your favorite $$$$ lipstick/lipgloss the night before.

~City Color Cosmetics Lip Lush (Wine) ($2.99): This is bright!  Not something I could pull off (nor would I probably ever even attempt to wear this out of the house), but I am sure on the right person it would be amazing.

~Revlon Color Burst Lip Gloss (Sunbaked) ($8.49): Love this gloss and love that it was included in here.  Because I get so many products in the mail I tend to not roam the aisles at Target as much as I used to anymore.  This made me realize that I should because there are lots of fun goodies to be found!

~Monthly Mix Up: John Frieda Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme ($1.80): Every month Lip Monthly includes a non-lip product.  I thought this was a fun one and always have troubles with frizzes and fly-aways!

~Stila Lip Glaze Stick (Orange): I can’t find this one online, but it’s also not on the information card so I assuming it’s a bonus item.  It’s  very bright, but I will make it work.

All totaled I came up with a value of $38.27 for the July 2014 Lip Monthly box.  I thought this box was a nice step up from the previous months which did feature a lot of discontinued items and for only $10/month it’s quite a deal.  I am looking forward to seeing what next month brings and hoping that this keeps up.

This is definitely more appealing if they’re not sending discontinued items. I’ll give it a few months first just to make sure they stick to that…

      Agree! I hope it continues.

I was on the fence about signing up for this one after seeing the disappointing reviews from the first two months, but I took a chance and signed up for a 4 month subscription today…hopefully I don’t end up regretting that decision!
