Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her.  You may select from a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.

This package is for L who is 6 years old.  I also received one for WB which you can check out here.

The Package

Zoobean now ships via UPS Mail Innovations and took about five days to arrive.  It was about the same amount of time Media Mail takes, so not a huge change by any means.

The Book

Lemonade in Winter

L received “Lemonade in Winter” (which retails for $13 on Amazon right now) as his book selection this month.  And this book couldn’t be more perfect.  L is so excited about having us having a garage sale this summer because he wants to have a lemonade stand.  So not only did this make him more excited for that, it also made him think that he can have them in the winter too ;)!

The App

The App

L’s App selection this month was “1000 Adventures”.  It’s $0.99 on iTunes, which is just what I like!  I haven’t downloaded this yet for L, but I am planning on it before our trip.  I think it’s something that WB would end up enjoying as well.  He wouldn’t get as much out of it, but I can see him liking the choices and graphics.

The Zoobean plan I received is $16.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion.  The book itself is $13 on Amazon right now, so you are basically getting the reading guide, app recommendations, etc. for $4.! If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a  Receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation.  And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrowing it from your local library!
