Tuesdays Troubles

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

I’ve said it before (like every week), but this should be named “things i’m annoyed / confused / want to complain about”, however I couldn’t figure out how to make any of those into a snappy title, so Tuesday Troubles it is.  And yes, I do realize that these aren’t true “troubles”. I know that many of these for sure could be defined as first world problems!

~So L tells me the other day he really wants the “Mr. Gold” lego mini figure.  You can’t just buy the figure you want from lego (they come in sealed mystery packs) and the packs they used to come in aren’t in stores anymore anyway.  I knew it was “rare”, but umm, this thing could be made of actual gold for the price it’s going for on ebay.  Auctions right now are like $1,100.  WHAT?  Stop it.  I think L is going to have to settle for one of the replicas on ebay, or, better yet, I can buy a can of gold spray paint and make him a Mr. Gold myself!

~What bag(s) is everyone carrying right now?  I am in the market for a new one and want some suggestions.  Ideally I want something brightly colored (maybe even a lemon yellow or a hot pink), not too crazy expensive and something fairly big.  Any suggestions??

~We bought some Christmas like type lights (like these) to hang up outside on our patio which I think would be super fun.  Only I don’t really get how we are suppose to hang them? Do we just get a few poles to throw in the ground?  Someone must know how to make this work, but still look cool.

~I couldn’t have felt any worse for Chris last night on The Bachelorette.  He seemed to really like Andi and seemed blindsided by her feelings (or lack of) and then ends up trying to make HER feel better.  So not my trouble, but I was troubled for him for sure.  Poor guy.  I hear things will be looking up for him very soon though which makes me excited!

~And finally, can someone please explain to me how people go to Disney for like a week straight and spend all day – every day – in the parks?  I am exhausted just thinking about it.  Do you need to take a vacation after your vacation?

That’s it from here for now! What’s troubling you today?

Haha yes you will need a vacation from your Disney vacay! We were there in march with my 2 yo and 4yo and spend everyday at the parks per there request. Why wouldn’t they want that they were both in the stroller all day. I was absolutely exhausted and I didn’t sleep well at night. But how could I Tell them no. The last day my 2 yo and I sat bye the pool doing Cheers well I enjoyed a pina colada and he enjoyed his milk that was about the extent of relaxing. Have fun!!!

    1. Jennifer

Ha. You are so right. It’s not too hard when you get pushed around in a stroller all day!

  2. Laura K

Disney is a brutal marathon, and yes, you do need a vacation from your vacation. Just three days wiped us out.

Great pic of your family at the pool!

    1. Jennifer

      Brutal marathon is right!!!

  3. That’s what we do. And we don’t go back to the hotel with the kids for naps. And we stay until it closes. What we *do* do is take our time and have long lunches and plenty of snack/drink breaks and we don’t really plan stuff too heavily in advance. If there’s a show, we go to it, etc. If the kids want to watch drumming for 20 minutes, that’s fine. Do you really go to Disney and stay in the hotel and watch tv??? My kids would explode! Also ours do not fall asleep if we’re in a hotel. I just spent the last week in the middle of nowhere in a hotel yelling at them at midnight to go to sleep! I did sleep for 2 hours in the middle of the day after we came back!

    1. Jennifer

Oh Lucas likes to swim and do all that stuff. And if I kept mine at the parks all day they’d freak like yours would at the hotel. I think it’s more the lines they can’t tolerate too much of? If we had constant fast passes all day we could do it. Maybe. lol.

I’m carrying a Louis Vuitton Damier bag. It goes with everything! I think Michael Kors makes really nice and big bright colored bags that are beautifully structured. PLUS, a lot of times you can find Michael Kors at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s!

    1. Jennifer

I have gone back and forth on those for years. I really should just do it. They keep increasing their prices and then I get annoyed but I always go back and look..

      1. Lori

We have a Michael Kors store in one of the malls here that has an awesome selection. Now I kinda want to go look … 😉

I almost went into cardiac arrest when I purchased my 1st LV. It just felt ridculous to spend that much on a handbag even though I wanted one for years. However, considering the use I gotten out of it, it was a great deal that even has resale value. That’s pretty cool for purse. I ended up going back 6 moths later to buy the tote for travel.

      1. Jennifer

You are so right. They do have great resale value!

I am carrying the “How Does She Do It” bag from Stella & Dot. It is huge! And I love the water bottle pocket in it.

    1. Jennifer

I am actually carrying that in the navy and white strip right now as well. Do you have the matching wallet? I love it. The wrist strap is great.

      1. Jacquelyn Noell

That is the same one I am carrying too! =]

And I did not get the matching wallet because I have such a stash of wallets that I have either never used or only used once. Buying accessories is a weird obsession of mine.

  6. Crstina

Definately buy an LV. I got one too right before having my son, and I’m glad I did. I have the Neverfull MM bag, and it’s the perfect size, and I can throw my sons stuff in there too.
However, I am currently carrying a bright blue Micahel Kors bag. It was only $298 and I think I bought it during Macy’s Friends and Family event a while back, so it was even cheaper. It’s a beautiful bright color blue, and I get tons of compliments on it. It’s sort of shaped like the Neverfull. It’s also big enough that I can throw in all of my stuff as well as my son’s items.

    1. Jennifer

I think I’d do an MM if I got one. That does seem like the best size.

  7. Lauren

I just got a kate spade Saturday tote on birchbox that I love! It’s a pretty blue
Color but also comes in coral! It’s the mini weekender! Plus u get a free mystery pack and can use birchbox points! Score!

    1. Jennifer

      Ohh, blue might be fun…..

  8. Andrea

I’ve been eyeing some purses on JustFab recently. They have some really nice colors and styles! I just can’t justify buying another purse right now with how crazy I went when Little Black Bag was clearing out all their stuff lol.

    1. Jennifer

I have been meaning to check out and place a JustFab order. I will keep them in mind!

  9. Melissa

We always go for 8 – 10 days, there’s just so much to see and do. We take our time, spend an afternoon here and there at Downtown Disney etc so we’re not completely worn out. We also try to go off season so lines are more manageable, that helps a lot.

    1. Jennifer

We for sure need to go longer next time. I like your ways! I just can’t do the park all day. I cannot. And with a 2 year old that needs more sleep in a day than I get in a week, it would be impossible to stay there all day anyway.

  10. Laura K

Big duh here. Vera Bradley has a “Ziggy Zag” chevron design bag in orange and pink. It’s PVC and not their reg fabric.

    1. Jennifer

      Off to google!

  11. Lindsey

OMG I just got a new bag in my last StitchFix! It’s a crossbody with a long enough strap for my freakish height, and it’s teal. Love love love

    1. Jennifer

      Ohh, what color is it??

      1. Lindsey

        It’s a teal/turquoise.

  12. Jenny

My Disney trips really just go with the boys moods. Sometimes they want to stay so we stay and others they are just done so we go back. But even when we go back we don’t just sit in the room we go swimming or the arcade or downtown disney or something. I agree with Brandy above that we normally do a lot of shows and sit down/rest kindof things in the middle of the day. I also try not to go in the summer so its not as hot. The heat and humidity makes a ton of difference and makes the day even longer.

    1. Jennifer

I really need to consider doing the guided thing. Do they still do that were you can get a guide and unlimited fast passes?

  13. Teena

I can’t take the boys to “Disney World” until around 2 or 3 years so it’ll be meaningful because their only 2 and 4. If you need help getting those gold legos at a reasonable price let me know I may have someone who are still selling them.

    1. Jennifer

We took L a when he was 1.5, 2 and 3 and he loved it! He doesn’t remember, but he had a great time.

      1. Teena

I might do it next year.

  14. Katie K

When I was 22 a friend and I went to Disneyworld/Universal for 11 days straight, open till close every night. I probably slept for a full week once I got back haha.

    1. Jennifer

I am exhausted just thinking about that.

  15. Jamie

I think coach is still having a big sale, if you’re into that.

    1. Jennifer

I could be into that if the price was right!

      1. Jamie

I picked up a couple wristlets, but they are running low on stock. Might be worth checking Dillard’s or macys.

  16. Erin

Nine West has beautiful bright summer bags and I only paid $40!!

  17. Erin

And I believe Orlando has a great outlet mall with Nine West and Coach

    1. Jennifer

That they do! Well, I know of the one with Lululemon in it. I am guess it’s the same??

  18. KELLY

Luckily your staying on site… so you could leave and take a break then go back. If you can go take a break and if your going to MK then go later in the night like around 8ish… when its starting to get dark… as soon as the fireworks are done 50% of the crowd leaves and this leaves about 2 hours to go on rides with alot less/no wait. Also the park stays open for a hour after “closing time” so if its closing at midnight you have until midnight to ride rides… but then from midnight-1:00 am you can take pictures around… go shopping. I know some people think im crazy that we do that but my 2 1/2 year old is a night kid so he is wide awake then so its alot easier. Hope your having fun!!! If you need anything while here let me know 🙂

    1. Jennifer

My 2 year old would never make it till 12am. He’s usually been in bed for about 5 hours by then. He’s a sleeper that one. L could do it though. And maybe when WB is older we can!

  19. Laura

I have a little peach colored Rosetti purse I got for like $10-$15 at TJ Maxx. It’s cute, but I don’t really like it. I have a blue leather purse thing too that has a bow with studs on it but it’s too big for right now. My other purses are in storage since we’re closing on our new house this week!!!!!!!!! Including one cute Street Level boxy type purse (I suck at being a girl and knowing what type of purse style things are) that is highlighter yellow. If I knew what exact box it was in, I’d dig it out and use it because while it’s smaller than the peach one and doesn’t zip up like the peach one does, I still like it better. I sometimes bring that bag from the PopSugar box.. it’s a huge shopper but I’ve been using it as a purse for when I need a bigger temporary bag. I actually brought it to the grocery store the other day to put my groceries in.. but didn’t even hand it to the bagger. As we were walking out I was like, “what the!?” with hands full of plastic bags and an empty shopper on my arm.

My brother, his wife, their kids (and my brother’s wife’s female family members) went to Disney Land this weekend. I think they’re supposed to be back today… but I can imagine spending a week in Disney. I haven’t been since I was little but I’m thinking the lines are insane and you’d need a week to go on everything and see/do everything.

    1. Jennifer

I do that all the time when I bring my own bags to the store. I always forget to use them. I don’t know why I find it so hard to remember!

  20. Pilar

When I went to Disney world a couple weeks ago, we would always go in the mornings and stay till 2 go back to the hotel and rest a couple hours and then go back around 6 and stay till close. It is always best to get some rest and come back later then to stay there the entire day exhausted.

    1. Jennifer

      Agreed!!??

  21. Chandra

I just order a cute bag from Francescas.com. The site is having a 40% off on full priced handbags. I order a brown satchel which is more of a fall color but I had my eye on a teal\turquoise one that may get ordered before the week is out. I’m really thinking about orderding a LV bag soon since I have a little extra cash to play with.

    1. Jennifer

Which LV bag are you thinking of?

      1. Chandra

I’m thinking about getting the tuileries bag. It so pretty.

  22. MJ

This isn’t a trouble, but I wanted to tell you that Shark Tank was holding auditions in my city yesterday! I didn’t audition, but it’s exciting! I might have to start watching it to see if anyone from my city made it!

    1. Jennifer

ohh, that is exciting! I would love to watch those auditions!

    1. Jennifer

Ohh, that is a really cool bag!

  23. Heather

I am rooting for Chris to be the next Bachelor. He lives about 30 minutes from where I grew up. If he is I will be interested to see what the girls think Iowa is like and being a farmer is like. I think a lot of them will be surprised its not all corn and cows!

    1. Jennifer

I am too! He is so nice and so real!

  24. Elizabeth

Have you seen the Matilda Jane Hobo bags? Or even their sling bags? These are awesome cloth bags in so many designs…just look at eBay! I use the hobo for our diaper bag because they are HUGE!

    1. Jennifer

I have not! I need to look them up!

  25. Terri Q

It’s been years since we last visited Disneyworld, but I remember we took the monorail to one of the hotels to relax and eat lunch, then went back to the park relaxed and ready! As for a new bag, I really love my Lily Bloom. They come in different sizes and have really cute prints. I have the cafe print, and have my eye on the cupcake print for my next bag!

    1. Jennifer

I need to get out if the parks and get back to the room for a bit too. It might change when the boys get older though.

  26. Susan

We don’t stay all day. We always feel like its not a vacation if you’re exhausted and not enjoying yourself. So we get up and go when we feel like it, and leave when the kids start getting tired. I honestly feel like if we’re having a good time, then we got our money’s worth, no matter how long we stayed at the park. We try to do other things too besides Disney. One year we did Discovery Cove. That was great, but the kids have to be six to swim with a dolphin. Last year we went to Legoland, that’s about 45 min south of Orlando. We loved it, and will definitely go back. We find its much more relaxing if we don’t try to fit everything into one trip.

    1. Jennifer

We were planning on Legoland, but we just never made it. I bet L would love to swim with a dolphin. I will need to look into that for next time.

  27. Kathy

I’d never spend more than $100 on a purse. I have many and no guilt. I switch every couple of weeks.Right now I am using a very pretty Nine West.

If you have a covered patio like we do, put up cup hooks to drape the lights.

Kourtney and Scott fight for the show, make-up and then she gets pregnant.

    1. Jennifer

How do you store all your bags? I need a new system for that.

      Nope, no covered patio.

      1. Kathy

I need a system as well. They are just on a shelf in my closet that I have to get a chair to reach. I stuff some of the leather ones with tissue paper because I don’t want a crease in them to make a weak spot.
