August Craft What?!? Box
The Box

Craft What?!? ships via USPS in a small box.  I was very anxious to see what would be included in this month’s box and couldn’t wait to open it.

First Look

I couldn’t tell too much about the project from the first look, but I could tell that it looked like fun.

The Information Card

The August 2014 Craft What?!? theme was “fly” and the instructions stated to think outside the box with the contents in the box and create your own interpretation to fly.  Here is what we (I had B help me) did:

August Craft What?!? Box
The Supplies

The supplies included a small canvas, colored tissue paper squares, a glue stick, a black sharpie and scissors.  I was stumped, but I knew I didn’t want to do an airplane like the example, so I called B in to help me out.

My Craft!

What is that you ask?  A kite of course!  It flies and it a bit outside the box.  Although it doesn’t look like it, the yellow thing is the sun.  I used all the colors of the tissue paper squares, the sharpie to draw the kite, the glue to stick the tissue to the canvas and the scissors to trim away any excess tissue paper.  I was pretty happy with how it came out.

I couldn’t do a cost breakdown on the August Craft What?!? box, but I didn’t think that the $10/month price tag was totally crazy.  B and I had a great time working on it and it forced us to be creative which was fun!

What do you think of Craft What?!?  If you are interested in order, click here and get signed up!  And if you are interested in winning one, well Craft What?!? wants to make that happen!  All you need to do is enter below and I will pick 4 winners next week!  Good luck!

I love using plaster craft. You can apply it over a thin layer of Vaseline to make masks on your own face and it also works for other areas like making a plaster hand. Then you can use acrylic paint to add designs. I was an art teacher and my students always loved this as well!
