Lip Factory Inc., who kindly sent me this box to review, is an exclusive, affordable (it’s $22/month), makeup subscription service. Most months, like this month, Lip Factory sends a mixture of cosmetic products, but once a quarter they send an “All About the Lips” box.  The All About the Lips box should have happened last month (in July), however, it was also their second anniversary, so the next one will be in November.

The Box

Lip Factory ships via USPS and once it starts moving it takes just a few days to arrive. They seem to print the labels in advance of actually shipping the box, so if you start tracking right away (like I always do), you won’t see any movement.

First Look

Everything arrived neatly packaged and looked as if it had just been placed in the box.  I have never had any problems with Lip Factory with missing or damaged items, so they clearly have that down!

The Information Card

The August 2014 Lip Factory box didn’t have a theme (some months do, some don’t), but the following items were included:

~LASplash Mineral Blush (Beach Party) ($15): I am really happy with the color I got!  It’s soft and shimmery, with just a touch of color.  It kind of makes my skin look like it’s glowing.

~LASplash Lip Lacquer (Tantalizing) ($9):  This is a little more red than my picture shows, which makes it even better in my opinion!  It’s glittery and non-sticky and smells pretty good too.

~Medusa’s Makeup Stick It Eye Primer ($8): This is used under eyeshadow to help it stay perfectly all day.  I rarely wear eyeshadow during the day or for long enough that I worry about it sliding off, but if / when I do, I will be ready!

~Cult Nails Lacquer (Manipulative) ($12): Love this color!  I don’t know how many different colors were sent, but I am thrilled with this one.

~Pink Powder Parlor Lipstick ($10): Lip Factory sent out an e-mail saying that there was an error and the products aren’t labeled with the Pink Powder Parlor brand name.  I probably wouldn’t even have noticed to tell you the truth.  This will be passed along to my sister-in-law just like all the other lipsticks I receive.  This is super bright and I can’t wait to see her reaction when she checks it out.  I am guessing this won’t be a court color (she’s an attorney)!

~Red Cherry False Eyelashes ($1.99): I love big lashes, but false eyelashes just aren’t my thing.  I have trouble applying them and really I don’t really have anywhere to go if they do go on perfectly anyway.  Kim Kardashian eyes would be a little much in the aisles at my local Target.

All totaled I came up with a value of $55.99 for the August 2014 Lip Factory box!  That is well over double the cost of the box which is $22/month and I was quite happy with this month’s box.  I think a lot of it had to do with the colors of the products I received.  The blush and lipgloss and nail polish are so perfect for me!  Had I gotten other colors I may feel differently about this month’s box.
