GLOSSYBOX, who kindly sent me this box to review, has collaborated with Cosmoprof North America for their latest Limited Edition box, the “Beauty Discovery GLOSSYBOX“. It’s a one-time purchase of $40 and features seven standout products that are perfect for the true beauty enthusiasts.

The Box

All of the Limited Edition Boxes I have received from GLOSSYBOX have been shipped in the same outer packaging as the monthly boxes.  The inner boxes are different, but it’s always that same GLOSSYBOX printed outer box.

The GLOSSYBOX

I mention it every time I review a GLOSSYBOX, but they have the best boxes.  Every time I make a box for a friend, I put it all in a GLOSSYBOX box.

All of the contents for this box are shown on the website when you order, but it’s always more fun to check everything out in person.  This box was actually more impressive in person than I thought when I first saw it in a picture.

The Information Card

The Cosmoprof Beauty Discovery GLOSSYBOX included the following items:

~Mastey Color Protecting Leave In Spray ($25): This spray is suppose to help protect your color and give it a longer life.  It’s a leave-in spray which I love and my hair color could for sure use some protecting.  I dye it every 8 weeks or so at home and would be thrilled to be able to stretch that out a bit more.

~Kocostar Hair Therapy ($7): This brand is totally new to me and offers intense treatment wraps for nails, feet and hair that you would find at the salon.  The mask leaves you with soft and silky hair in just 15 minutes.  I am seriously going to pick up the “foot” one too because it sounds awesome.

~Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Age-Defying Eye Serum ($65): Ohh, a full-sized eye serum?  Awesome!  After I use up the eye cream I just opened, I will be moving on to this. It’s another totally new to me brand and unless it was in a subscription box I probably would never have tried it.

~OPI Pink It Through ($9.50): Now that I have discovered the power of a matte base coat, I am much more likely to wear pale polishes.  I used to end up using 10 coats so that you couldn’t see through it (I hate that), but a matte base coat fixes that issue.

~Be A Bombshell Cosmetcs The One Stick (Buck Wild) ($16): I saw this in the picture of the box and was like meh, I already have a few of those.  But when I got the box and opened it and saw the color I received, I was thrilled.  I was expecting a pink or a red shade, but this brown / bronze color is way better!

~Skin Nutrition Cell-CPR ($52.50): Wait.  What?  This little sample is $52.50?  That is insanity.  It is safe to say that I will not be buying the full size of this which runs $150 for one ounce.  I am starting this tonight and have high hopes that by the time it runs out, the fountain of youth will have hit my face.

~Royal Apothic Cream Creme ($8): Love this.  I am a huge fan of fancy hand creams and this is no exception.  You can use this all over, but I am just using it on my hands.  It is fabulous.  And I didn’t realize it at first, but Costco actually sells (and I have purchased) sets of lip balms and lip scrubs by Royal Apothic.  I would love to see these cremes in a set there down the road.

All totaled I came up with a value of $183 for the Beauty Discovery Cosmoprof for GLOSSYBOX Limited Edition Box.   I am absolutely shocked by the value of this box.  I swear when I first saw it online, I though *maybe* the value of the box was double the cost?  Umm, try more than 4x the cost.  I just wasn’t familiar with a lot of these brands and  had no idea they were so high-end (and amazing).  Next time they do a limited edition box I will certainly be taking a closer look at the goodies in it.

What do you think of the Cosmoprof Beauty Discovery GLOSSYBOX?  If you are interested in ordering this box or picking up a monthly GLOSSYBOX subscription (which will begin with the September box), head over to GLOSSYBOX and get started.  If you are getting a monthly subscription, don’t forget you can use the coupon code “FLAWLESS” to get a complimentary Boscia BB Cream (a $38 value) with your new subscription purchase.

Ugh. I promise myself I would never buy Glossybox because all of their problems. It does look amazing. I’m seriously tempted.

    1. Carmen

Same here! Some of these are so tempting but then I remember my horrible customer service experience and can’t bring myself to give them my money!

As PA Anna knows (from a discussion elsewhere), I am not fond of pale pink nail polish. But the thing that is actually turning me off is the BaB One Stick. I got one of those from ipsy and I didn’t have a problem with the color. But the formula, itself, was awful on me. It went on splotchy and showed every single little flaw in my skin. (I have a Jane Iredale lip and cheek stain that I got from Birchbox — I think — that works just fine, so I don’t think it’s my technique.)

I haven’t had problems with Glossybox but I have an annual subscription. We’ll see if I feel that way when it comes time to cancel so it doesn’t auto-renew.

P.S. I just use solid white polish under pale or translucent polishes. Will have to try the matte top coat thing.

      1. Jennifer

I never thought about a white underneath?? That’s probably the same as my matte base coat.

    2. Jennifer

I only have problems with late boxes but I’m used to that by now so I expect it!

Just FYI, I know you like to shop at Target. If you get white polish there, I would suggest staying away from the white polish from Sonia Kashuk that Target carries. It is SO streaky and weird in consistency that it’s hard to get a nice even finish as a base for another color.

        1. Jennifer

          Thank you for the tip!

      2. PA Anna

Waving hi to Sneaky Burrito. I spent some time looking at the ingredients on the facial items and can’t figure out if it will bother my rosacea so am still thinking about it. I do like the hair products especially since I had more red added to my hair. Red fades quickly. Maybe I can convince myself to hold out for the Eva Scrivo Quarterly box. She should have something amazing for hair.

I need to know more about the matte topcoat! How does that work?

    1. Jennifer

      Oops base coat!!

      1. PA Anna

I want to know more about the matte basecoat. I was in Target tonight looking for it. They all look the same to me. Is it something special?

        1. Jennifer

I think a few different brands make one. It’s probably really called a matte top coat, but I use just it as a base coat.

        2. PA Anna

Found one! I have a couple light pinks that I want to try out.

  4. Christina

Matte base coat? Any certain one? I have lots of polish but not that. hmmm…maybe I do need more!

    1. Jennifer

I use an American Apparel one I got in a subscription box.

  5. Katherine

I know this is an old post, but this box is now on sale for $15!!!!

    1. Jennifer

Thank you for the heads up!!!
