~Good morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  The festival we were planning on going to actually got canceled because of damage from a big storm we had Friday night, so we ended up bbq’ing in the backyard, setting up the bounce house and we made a trip to Dave & Buster’s yesterday afternoon.  I figured that was about as close as we were going to get to carnival games.  The boys had a great time and so did B and I!

Deciding how to spend your tickets is the hardest part!

~I am making care packages for two of my cousins in college and I need some ideas.  I have the makeup / nail polish / skin care stuff down, but what else should I send?  They do have a car, so it doesn’t really have to be anything practical.  Just fun stuff!

~I ask this every year, but when do you start decorating for fall?  In September?  Or do you wait until October 1st?  I really want to get my stuff out, but is it too soon?

~And speaking of fall,  has anyone else noticed the large amount of pumpkin spice / caramel apple flavored foods in stores right now? Oh my.  It’s everywhere. Every fall there is just more and more of it too.  I thought the Twizzlers would be good. They aren’t. In my opinion none of them are really that amazing.  Except the Caramel Apple Pirate’s Booty.  That is oddly good.  B likes the Caramel Apple Oreo’s a lot, but even L avoids those.  Have you tried any of these “seasonal” items  recently?  What do you think?

~This week I am expecting Hazel Lane (get here already), Blue Velveteen, Fancy Food Box, BOXYCHARM, Sample Society, Fair Treasure, GlobeIn, Fabletics, FabKids and *maybe* September’s PopSugar! I know that some people are reporting getting shipping information on theirs, but I haven’t gotten mine yet. Hopefully it ships today!

~I am still working on separating out subscription box reviews from other blog posts so that you can just view one or the other instead of all of them at once.  I am hoping to have that done by the end of the week, but we’ll see about that!  I am also going to try and do some updates to my tags so that it’s WAY easier to find things.  If things look messy around here this week, it’s just me testing some things out.

What’s up for your Monday? Any big plans this week?  And of course, what subscription boxes are you expecting?

  1. we were at walmart this weekend (and they always have all those flavors right??) and NOTHING. it was the country walmart though. because i specifically cruised the oreo aisle and they had stacks and stacks of halloween oreos and nothing else.

Oh that’s not right! They usually have everything! Although I do think that the caramel apple is just at target?

mini snack items for those college girls micro popcorns etc

The pumpkin spice M&Ms rock. I love Pumpkin anything. For the college care package – I’d say starbucks gift card or some kind of coffee (dude we lived off of coffee in college), gift cards to restaurants (campus food sucks after a while.. like the first day), pens and pencils, sticky notes, cute bathroom stuff (like those things you put shower gel on), itunes gift card, books (maybe that is just me), any kind of food. I just remember being in the dorms and being broke and being way excited when peeps would hook me up w/ free food.. or snack foods. Oh and in college I was big into funky tshirts and stuff – that prob isn’t for anything but that would have made me way jazzed to get a tshirt in the mail. Who am I kidding, I still get excited about that!

    1. Jennifer

Me too! I was always excited to just get mail. Lol. It was a big deal.

My sister says funky socks and hair ties. LOL she loves getting those in her goodie bags. She is also being specific and telling me candles and a freestanding necklace holder. Hmm I think she has an issue with organization or something. Maybe I need a TJMaxx run. 😉

      That’s so funny!!

Cute ideas!!!! I totally agree that walking to class in the winter was an adjustment. And with touch screen gloves you can check your phone to make the walk go more quickly!

I live in CA, so I try to wait on fall decor until October. It’s still very hot over here and we are still in full summer mode so I will be waiting until October to decorate. I can’t wait though, I love decorating for Fall/Halloween.
And I too have noticied allt he pumpking and apple flavored stuff in the stores. I love it and I’m ready for fall to arrive.
“Wake me up, when September ends!” 🙂

      I love that song!!!!

We decorate for fall on September 1st. It’s pretty much it’s own holiday in our house.

Also, caramel apple everything, please and thank you!

    1. Jennifer

What’s your favorite caramel apple thing??

I sent my cousin, who is a junior at Michigan State, a kit for making jello jigglers with the MSU logo & lime jello. They had several different universities available.

I found it on Amazon. It is really cute and about $6 for the molds and jello.

I’m sure they will be able to make the “adults only” versions for their game day festivities…

    1. Jennifer

That’s a cute idea! Their school probably isn’t big enough for a Jello mold, but I may pick one up – for me….

Have you tried the Pumpkin Noosa yogurt? It is exclusive to Target and it is so good. I am mildly intrigued by pumpkin flavored snacks and this blew me away.

    1. Jennifer

No! But now I want to!

  9. Kayla

My fiance LOVES the carmel apple oreos. I thought they were quite yucky. But he also did like the chicken and waffles Lays that were released last year for the contest.

    1. Jennifer

      I liked those too!

I’m in southern CA where it’s still super hot so I hold off on Fall decorating until mid-October. Even then it might still be very, very hot around here. For college care packages, I would include coffee gift cards and I used to always include a roll of quarters for laundry.

I got my PopSugar Fall SE over the weekend and liked it better than I thought I would. I loved the scarf and perfume which was surprising for me. I’m excited to try the cleanser. My hubby ate the gummies and said they were good. I have no use for the knit hat in CA so I put it up for swapping.

My Boxycharm, Pop Sugar and Birchbox have all shipped so I’m hoping I’ll get at least one of them this week!

    1. Jennifer

I just got an e-mail about my Birchbox too! I can’t wait to get it!

  11. Lauren

I tried the pumpkin spice M&Ms last year and they were a big disappointment. They just tasted like chocolate with a slight aftertaste of spices. If I decorated for just fall I’d start on September 1st but I only have Halloween decorations and I wait until after my birthday (September 14th) to set those up. 😉 What can I say I’m a shameless Halloween fan!

    1. Jennifer

I am not a pumpkin spice m&m fan either. Not at all!

  12. Victoria

Whoa whoa whoa, hold the phone! Caramel apple Pirate Booty?!?!? Where do I find these?!?!?! Just bought a ton of the cheese ones (on sale at Costco), but would love a bag (or 3) of the caramel apple ones. And I’d stick some super cute post it notes in the box, I used a ridiculous amount of them when I was in college and would have loved some cute ones for sure.

    1. Jennifer

      Target of course…….

  13. karen

Feels like fall, the days are getting way to short and Labor Day is past, so I say go for the fall decorations!! I like the carmel apple suckers but the have been around for a while. Need to look for the oreos.

    1. Jennifer

      Those are really good!

We are decorating now. I am working on the kitchen this week. I want to organize and prepare for the upcoming baking season. My older son loves the pumpkin spice M&Ms. Fresh apple cider donuts are good at this time of the year. I received Fantasy Box today and should be receiving Wantable Intimates. I don’t think anything else is coming this week. Birchbox tracking initiated today and no PopSugar tracking yet.

I haven’t decorated yet, but I put fall decorations up sometime in September, no Halloween until October 1. Then Thanksgiving on November 1. Some of my fall items, ceramic pumpkins, etc. get a lot of use. Dying to get mums, they are one of my favorite items to decorate with in the house, on the kitchen and dining room table, on the coffee table, fireplace, in cute wicker baskets.

    1. Jennifer

      I like that idea!
