The November boxes are already rolling in and today that meant the arrival of B’s November 2014 Birchbox Man!

The Box

Birchbox Man ships via USPS through Newgistics and took four days to arrive this month.

The Birchbox

The November Birchbox wasn’t a collaboration so it arrived in the normal Birchbox box.  For the first time ever, Birchbox Man allowed subscribers to select their lifestyle item this month or opt for their “The Right Scruff” box which was curated in honor of Movember.  B was going to get The Right Scruff Box, however, it was sold out by the time we went to make our selection, so he ended up not picking anything at all.  I was very curious to see what he’d end up with since we did this.

B received Box #19 (*) this month which looked great when I saw the sneak peek online.  I didn’t know all of the details of it yet though, but when I opened it I was really happy to see how packed full it was.

The Information Card

The November 2014 Birchbox Man theme was “On A Mission” and focused on how much we have to give.  Many of the brand partners this month contribute to larger social missions and the information card also asks what your mission is.  If you don’t yet have one, it reminds you that it’s not too late to chart your course.  Here is what was included:

~Clark’s Botanicals Smoothing Marine Cream (~$16):  I had to estimate the sample size on this one to be 0.25oz because it wasn’t labeled, but I do think I am pretty close.  This anti-aging cream, which helps support the Christopher Reeve Foundation, pretty much does it all.  It exfoliates, hydrates and smoothes.  At $115 for 1.7oz I don’t know that we’ll ever actually purchase this, but B is pumped to try it.

~Alternative Apparel Basic Crew T-Shirt ($28): We SO lucked out by not picking a lifestyle item!  the choices were a notebook  / pencils or Bombas socks. He does love those socks and he would have been okay with either of those items, but this shirt is awesome.  It’s fitted and super soft and just fabulous.

~Jao Hand Refresher ($0.68): B will likely end up packing this for one of his National Guard weekends or a trip overseas or something.  Not overly exciting, but he’ll use it.

~Jao Bomade Beardscent ($4.03): I didn’t even know that there was such a thing as “beardscent”.  It helps smooth down crazy beard flyways and helps with dry skin and itchy beards as well.  I really hope that B never grows a beard long enough that he needs this, but you never know.

~RUSK Hair Care ($6.75): I am stealing this one for L.  I can never find product for him when he needs it, so this is going to be all his!

~Do The Right Thing Face to Face Foam Cleanser ($2.30): Cleanser is probably B’s favorite skincare item to receive.  He uses it daily and is always interested in trying new brands.

All totaled I came up with a value of $57.76 for B’s November 2014 Birchbox Man box and that doesn’t even include the points for purchasing the box (**) (20 points = $2) or the points for reviewing the products in the box (6 items = 60 points = $6), which brings the real value to $63.76.  I think this may be our favorite all-time ever Birchbox Man.  Everything was fantastic and that t-shirt is just awesome.  Loved this month!

Do you get Birchbox Man box this month?  What’d you think of the box this month and what lifestyle item did you get?  I know there were a new more in addition to the notebook / pencils, t-shirt and socks.  If you are interested in subscribing or just want to learn more, click here!

(*) If you want to see all the boxes this month, click here and change the 1 at the end to anything from a 2 to 25 since there were 25 (down from last month’s 27 variations) box variations this month. If you can’t figure out which box number you got, login into Birchbox and then Click “Box” and select Men’s or Women’s. Scroll down a bit to were it says “Box History” and click the month of the box (in this case November 2014). The number at the end of the URL is your box number. B’s box ended in “november-2014-mb19″ which means he got box #19.
(**) You only get points for purchasing the box if you buy a prepaid annual subscription (or 3-month, 6-months, etc.). You don’t get points if you are on a month to month subscription.

AHHHH the beard stuff! N would greatly benefit from it. His is out of control!

My 15 year old son decided that this will be his last box because he is entering a specialty program in Tae Kwon Doe which is $$$. The November box is his favorite. He selected the socks which are black and gold – Steeler colors. He received the same foam cleanser and hair paste, the Dr. Brant Pores no more vacuum cleaner, and the Davines Rebalancing Shampoo.

I tried to cancel his box and received a message about how I received x amount of boxes (total of both men and women) and am Aces. It asked if I wanted to cancel. I only wanted to cancel men.

I have been receiving these boxes for 3 months now. I finally cancelled, because they kept sending me technology items when I wanted fashion items. I received wooden earphones this month (some cheap Quirky stuff last month), and I just felt like it was a total waste. Your husband always seems to receive the clothes… I’m jealous.

If you have a men’s and women’s, do you get the review points all on one account?

    1. Jennifer

Yes. I have both under one account.
