My October 2014 Julep Maven box arrived late last week and I have been drooling over the colors ever since.
If you aren’t familiar, Julep is a monthly nail polish subscription service. They have recently switched a few things up and are now offering a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products. Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers. Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 are grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription if they want to customize their boxes. If you opt for a prepaid subscription of 3-months, you can also get the $19.99/rate which is fully customizable!
Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post and my box took about four days to arrive to me this month. Julep moved to a more centralized shipping location a few months ago and it’s working out better for me. I am guessing if you live on the West Coast you aren’t as big of a fan of this as I am though.
For once I remembered exactly what I ordered this month! I did the “Polish Lover Upgrade” and then added on the featured mask. I am a big fan of dark polish colors and I couldn’t resist these. Plus, every time someone comes over I send them home with a pile of nail polish, so I “need” more darks.
October 2014 Julep Maven boxes featured “The Black Magic Collection”. As I noted I upgraded to the “Polish Lover” collection which included the following colors:
~Julep Marla– Boho Glam ($11.20 / $14): Marla is a burgundy velvet with silver shimmer. It’s a little lighter in my picture than it really looks in the bottle, but you can see the silver shimmer in it and that’s what I was going for.
~Julep Briana – Boho Glam ($11.20 / $14): Briana is a sailor blue crème. I feel like I have a color like this already, so although it’s gorgeous, I will be passing this one on to a friend.
~Julep Nancy – Boho Glam ($11.20 / $14): Nancy is a silvery sage metallic. In some lights it looks more silver and in others it looks more green. Either way it’s very pretty.
~Julep Margarita – Bombshell ($11.20 / $14): Margarita is a palace purple crème. I feel like I have a similar color to this one as well, so this will also be passed along to a friend. I am kind of surprised they named a purple color “Margarita”. That should be a lime color ;).
~Julep DeAnn – Classic With A Twist ($11.20 / $14): DeAnn is a ripe loganberry crème. It’s deeper than it looks and is very very pretty.
~Julep Logan – Classic With A Twist ($11.20 / $14): Logan is a sultry aubergine shimmer. This is absolutely perfect for fall and will be one of the first ones I go for.
~Julep Ledi – Classic With A Twist ($11.20 / $14): Ledi is a black pearl shimmer and will be THE first color I go for in this collection. I love the shimmer in this and think it makes it even more gorgeous.
~Julep Dana – It Girl ($11.20 / $14): Dana is a white with electric blue sheen and is black light reflective. I have no idea when I was last in a black light (maybe glow-bowling), but I will be finding one soon ;).
~Julep Shailene – It Girl ($11.20 / $14): Shailene is a bewitched purple with gold iridescence and is another one of my favorite from this collection. There were just so many great ones this month.
All totaled (using Maven pricing) I came up with a value of $100.80 (not using Maven pricing it had a value of $126) for the October 2014 Julep Maven Collection. The Polish Lovers upgrade was $50 total or about $5.55 per polish.
Did you get Julep this month? What collection did you get? As always, if you are interested in subscribing to Julep, click here and use the coupon code “FREEBOX” to get your first box for $4.99 (you pay only the shipping)! Or you can use the coupon code “FREETREATS” to get this free 4-piece Halloween Beauty Box (again you will just be responsible for shipping).
I don’t think mine has shipped yet. Well I haven’t gotten a shipping confirmation email yet. I think I might contact them and ask. Mine always takes forever to get to me! At least 7-10 days after I get the shipping email. I’m excited to get mine. I customized my box and ended up picking Ledi, Nancy, and DeAnn.
I can’t remember if I got a shipping notification this month or not? I track it all in FedEx so I can see what’s coming.
