The January boxes have been rolling in and one of the latest ones to arrive was my January 2015 Julep Maven box.

If you aren’t familiar, Julep is a monthly nail polish subscription service.  They offer a “My Maven” box for $24.99/month which contains $40+ worth of product and polish or “Maven Luxe” for $39.99/month which contains $60+ of prestige products.  Both boxes are fully customizable and you have the option to switch between tiers.  Subscribers prior to 4/29/14 were grandfathered in at the $19.99/month rate, however, they will need to upgrade to the $24.99 subscription if they want to customize their boxes.  I am holding out and have yet to upgrade to the customizable option.  Once you do, you can’t move back down.

Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post and, once shipped, took three days to arrive too me.

Even though I made my selections for this box, I still had absolutely no idea what to expect when I opened this box.  I made my selections on the 20th of December and that seems like a lifetime ago!  It looks like I went for some add-ons this month too. I have no explanation for that.  LOL!

The Information Card

January 2015 Julep Maven boxes featured the The Chrysalis Collection.  I opted for the Classic With a Twist box which included the following items:

~Julep Maryam (Classic with a Twist) ($11.20 / $14): Maryam is a dark merlot shimmer and was basically the reason I picked the box I did.  I love this color and I thought it was totally perfect for winter.  It’s even prettier in person and I am obsessed with it!

~Oxygen Nail Treatment – Ivory ($14.40 / $18): I have gotten this in the past but I didn’t use it as much as I should have and now I cannot find it.  I think I need to take a break from the polish every once in a while to keep my nails looking good.  This will help!

~Luxe Lip – Sheer Pink ($19.20 / $24):  I wasn’t overly impressed by this for the price (although it is much larger than I expected), but I did like it.  It went on nicely and wasn’t sticky or anything, but even at the Maven price, I think it’s expensive.

~Julep Metamorphic Top Coat (~$14.40 / $18): All Maven subscribers (assuming you responded to the e-mail they sent) were supposed to get one of these (there are three varieties) free in their January box.  It was missing from my box though.  I don’t know if it is shipping separate or if I should e-mail them about it, so if you have received this let me know how it arrived okay?

All totaled (including the free top coat because I know it will arrive eventually) I came up with a value of $59.20 for the January 2015 Julep “Classic With a Twist” Box.  I paid $19.99 for the box and think it was well worth it!

Did you get Julep this month?  What collection did you get?  If you are a new subscriber and want to sign up, you can use the coupon code “BEMINE” to get a free 4-Piece themed Valentine’s Day box plus free shipping!

I received my maven box yesterday. My free metamorphic topcoat was in my box inside a white mesh bag with a note.

      I guess I need to e-mail!

I got my box yesterday (2 days early. Hooray!). My topcoat was in a little bag as well. You should definitely call customer care. I received the Luxe Lip lip gloss in Sheer Fig. I love the color and formula, but I agree with you on the price. It’s a bit steep for what it is. The applicator is like an odd, metal duck bill.

Definitely email them. They forgot to add the Maryam polish to my box.

Sounds like it should have been in the box! I will e-mail them!

  4. Hilda

You should email. My top coat was in a small yellow mesh bag with a note.

Haven’t gotten mine yet 🙁 shouldn’t I have it by now?

This month’s box? It ships via FedEx Smart Post which is super slow. I wouldn’t be worried. You should have gotten a tracking e-mail though.

I’m concerned because my payment posted on the 27th and I haven’t gotte the confirmation eMail yet. Has that ever happened with yours?

I had to email, because mine wasn’t in the box either, and they shipped it immediately!

Perfect! I need to do that!

You can customize and pay the 19.99 if you do the three month at a time option (I am addicted to nail polish so it works for me). Just in case you didn’t know and are interested. I just randomly found your post and thought u mightnwanr to know.
