SundaySentiments

You know the drill, I am stealing Jen’s Sunday Sentiments button and idea and making it mine tonight!

~I don’t have too much to report on tonight because we didn’t really do too much.  We went out for pizza and fro-yo to celebrate L’s progress report Friday night, ran a few errands, got pumpkins and watched football Saturday and then today was homework for B, haircuts and installing out new faucet in the kitchen since I totally broke ours. Seriously how does the sprayer thing just crack off while you are using it?  Whatever, it’s fixed now.

That's the weekend right there!

~Are there ever coupons for TJ Maxx / Home Goods / Marshalls?  I feel like the answer to this one is no, but heck you never know unless you ask.  The last few months have gotten me obsessed with those stores, but I want to save even more!  Do they do anything for Black Friday?

One of my latest finds.
One of my latest finds.

~Speaking of Black Friday, did you hear that Macy’s is opening at 6pm this year? What?  How about no.  Can’t we all just have a nice Thanksgiving and eat a bunch of turkey and watch a bunch of football and then go crazy shopping at 3am or whatever like we used to?  Heck, even at midnight would be okay.  Sometimes we don’t even eat till 6pm.  Geez!

~I sometimes (okay maybe it’s happened like twice) get questions about coloring your hair at home and which dye I use.  I think people think it’s scary, but it’s not I swear!  I picked up some Garnier® Nutrisse® Nourishing Color Foam Foam at Target today for $6.99/box and if you got two boxes you got a $5 gift card back. What? That’s cheap. And it works I swear. Takes like 30 minutes from start to finish.  I’m not loyal to this brand (I think they all work pretty well), but it’s such a good deal right now I had to share.

~Heads up! Sample Society Mystery Boxes are back! The following three options are available: 15 Samples ($25), 10 Samples ($18) or 5 Samples ($10). So far I have resisted when they do Mystery Boxes, but I don’t know how much longer I can hold out.  You can use the coupon code “BBTWITTER” to save an additional $15 off your order of $15+ or “FALLCARE14” to save $25 off $100.

~Has anyone tried these (or some variation of them) No Bake Energy Bites by Gimme Some Oven? Are they as good as they look? They look excellent and so so so easy to make.  Would they hold together if I skipped the coconut?

That’s all for now!  See you in the morning!

Those energy balls from Gimme Some Oven are AMAZING. They are a staple in our fridge. I always use the coconut, you can really taste it with the peanut butter and chocolate happening. I think it’s good to include the coconut, it helps hold the balls together. Let me know what you think if you make them, they are so yummy 🙂

      I totally will!

Can you tell me where you got the Happy Chic blanket/throw? Love!!

    1. Jennifer

That was from Home Goods. I think they were originally sold at JC Penney?

Where oh where did u get the Eiffel Tower behind your sink I NEED me one of those

It came from Kirklands years ago. I googled quick and it looks like Bed, Bath & Beyond have a similar one.

I can’t get the BBTWITTER code to work. Has anyone tried it?

  5. Sher

I am definitely going to make those energy balls ? thanks for the tip!

Those stores don’t do anything on Black Friday. I worked at TJMaxx last year so r and they don’t do anything because they already have ed low prices-at least that’s what I was told.

    1. Jennifer

What kind of discount do you get if you work there?

I make the energy bites a lot. Love them! I’ve never used coconut and they hold up fine. I used dried oats, flaxseed, honey, vanilla extract choc chips and PB. Sometimes I also add dried cranberries or swap mini choc chips or white choc chips for regular.

      Perfect!

I too have grown to be obsessed with TJ Maxx and Marshalls in the last month. So addicting. I can’t get over how fast the merchandise turns over. I had to scour them both to find the Glamglow, found the black package and the eye pods. Score!

Code BEAUTYBAR0814 gives you a free 20 samples with an order of $75+. It stacks with the 25 off 100 coupon FYI, and the contents I got in mine were way better than the mystery boxes themselves.

      Thanks!

I make energy bites without coconut and they hold together fine. I usually put flaxseed in. Love them. I have to hide them from the many boys in my house or they are gone in 2 seconds flat. Mini chocochips are even better.

Do you have the rewards card? That is the only way I know of to save additional money at TJ Maxx/Homegoods/Marshalls. I think you receive a coupon after so many points. This is the free rewards card, not the credit card.

    1. Jennifer

I do not and I am a bit scared to get one….

  13. Stacey

I made those energy balls and they were amazing, I couldn’t stop eating them! I also made some from The beauty department that were yummy and they didn’t have coconut in them!

J works at Best Buy and we dread seeing what his shift will be for Black Friday. Last year they opened at 6pm on Thanksgiving, but he got lucky (?) and had shifts from Midnight-8am and then again 4pm-11.

I do *not* miss working retail.

    1. Jennifer

That doesn’t sound lucky, but it an odd way it really is!
