It’s time for another Thursday Thoughts! If you want to participate, but have no idea what a link-up is, you can check out my explanation of it here.
~Thursday already? I love it! We have a Halloween party tomorrow night so I need to run out today and pick up a pair of pants and a shirt for L for his Minecraft costume. I got the head and sword at Target (so much for making my own) and he loves it. Now WB, well he’s not too into Halloween. He not thrilled by the Olaf costume (or any costume really), but I think once he realizes that it’ll get him candy he’ll be more into it ;). As for the rest of the weekend I am not sure what’s going on.
~I still have lots of subscription boxes coming this week including Citrus Lane, Googaro, ipsy and Love With Food. I was finally billed for the October PopSugar box, but mine hasn’t shipped yet. I got an e-mail last night saying that they were hoping to have them all shipped within the next 7-8 days. I wish they would have upgraded the shipping to something faster, but it’ll get here eventually I suppose. Anyway, I also just got tracking on Barkbox, Lip Factory, Little Pnuts, Spicy Subscriptions, Urthbox and BOXYCHARM too, but I am guessing it will be a few more days on those.
~I am sure that you’ve heard about this by now, but Erin Condren is offering free covers for your planner through 11/1 using the coupon code “FREECOVER“. You still have to pay shipping, but if you are planning on ordering your 2015 Life Planner anyway you should do it before the 1st and take advantage of the freebie!
~I think I figured out why I have been breaking out so much. I think it’s because I wasn’t moisturizing enough. I have been using that new Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask for the past week or so and I can already tell the difference!
~Did anyone watch that Teen Mom Ask the Moms Special? Does Gary still have that baking business? I can’t figure it out from his Twitter (and yes, I follow him on Twitter), but I am curious. And is he really having another baby? Either way I need him back on my tv stat. I loved that cast the most and can’t wait till the new season starts.
~So I am on this big ebay mission to find a vintage Sto N Go Hot Wheels ramp for WB. I have mentioned this in the past, but I am back on the hunt because it would make the best Christmas present. My mom has a similar one from when my brother was a kid and he loves it. And I have been unable to find a good STURDY car ramp anywhere. I don’t think they exist. Fingers crossed I can win one! Did your parents save any of your old toys? Are you planning on saving any of your kids toys for future Grandkids?
That’s it from here! What are your weekend plans?
OMG – I am looking for that exact same Hot Wheels ramp!! Why don’t they make toys like that anymore? My mother-in-law still has the one from when my husband was a kid and my son just LOVES it….plays for hours and he doesn’t play with anything for that long. I saw a few on eBay, but they were in questionable condition. I have several toys, including a wooden rocking horse, that I intend to keep around for grandkids someday.
No seriously, why don’t they make toys like that anymore? The Matchbox / Hot Wheels ramps they have out now SUCK. They tip over, the cars fall off, etc. Lame.
From the comments on various sites, it seems that most people did not receive the Popsugar email and so they are even more angry now. They really did mess up bad this month. As much as I really want my box, I know complaining isn’t going to speed it up, especially with how many other people are complaining. I just want it to get here soon.
I know some people got it in their spam box? Or maybe some peoples boxes shipped and they just didn’t get that e-mail?
did you see this yet?!

DYING. the first video was funny enough, but the fact that they reenacted it is even better.
Great costumes. I especially love the Olaf costume.
It would be awesome if Pop Sugar gave us an extra item in next month’s box to make up for receiving our October boxes so late. My box hasn’t shipped yet either.
I was so excited when I got that e-mail from Erin Condren. I ended up ordering my 2015 planner now with the free cover instead of waiting until December to order it.

which cover(s) did you get?
I wouldn’t be sad if we got an extra item either!
I got the Paisley and the Candy Lace.
Me either, lol.
You might have better luck finding old toys at thrift shops or garage sales locally than ebay. Stuff like that seems so expensive on ebay, but I see it at thrift stores sometimes. Just have to check back often.
I do need to go more often and try to find one..
I seriously laughed out loud WB’s costume. I’m not sure if it is his sweet smile or the previous post with him saying “I NOT OLAF”! But this is too cute!
Oh he is so mad about it still. I took him to Target today and we walked up and down the aisles looking at costumes. Of ALL the costumes he picked a pink crayon 😉
I really hope you can find one. Great toy. My brothers still have the one they had from Christmas in the early 1970’s. It’s a little different. It has been passed around and is still popular and has held up well. They also still have their train sets and other toys. I still have a Chatty Cathy from a Christmas when I was a child.
Was it Cindy Brady that had to have a Chatty Cathy doll?
LOL. I can not remember even though I watched the show. I do remember that when I was ten years old my choir group went on a field trip and it was to see the Brady Bunch on stage Portland, Oregon. Yes, those were wild times for a ten year.
We have that same Hot Wheels set! My MIL had it stashed in a closet. My son saw it & lost his mind so it came home with us 🙂 It isn’t in the best condition but I’m fairly sure it was used when my husband got it so all things considered, it has held up well. Of course, my son could care less if the stickers are peeled & it’s missing a leg. He’s 10 now & still will randomly play with it.
They are definitely out there!
Where have you been lady??? I have been meaning to e-mail you!
I think my moms is missing a leg (or two) as well. They just put a pillow under it and it works fine.
Ok too funny…We were JUST playing with that set last night. My 2 yr old is starting to love cars, and we dug that out of the toy room at my parents house yesterday. It’s a super fun set 🙂
OMG that is hysterical!! My kids play with it every time they are at my moms.
My brother had that same Hot Wheels car ramp! I have been saving all of my son’s toys “just in case.” They come in handy when my friends bring over their little ones. My parents kept all of mine and my brother’s toys forever, finally threw them out in August of 2004 and I got pregnant in October of 2004. I have been mad ever since because I could have saved a TON of money had they just saved our stuff for 2 more months!
Two more months! Ahh! So close yet so far!
I love you kids costumes- so cute!! My daughter is going as a witch.
I also got the PopSugar email. I’m bummed that it’s so late this month, but I’m glad that they at least sent out an email about the boxes being late.
My little one picked a new costume today since he hates the Olaf. He picked a pink crayon 😉
Love it! Must be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The minecraft costume looks great – and it was easier than making your own!
I may have ordered multiple covers from Erin Condren 🙂 Now I just have to wait for them to arrive.
Way easier!
Which covers did you get?
I found that the lush face masks caused me to break out so I stopped using them. I’m still on the search for a good moisturizer that doesn’t cost a ton.
That is a hard one!
My mom kept all of my favorite books from when I was little. We lived in poverty back then, so my books were my treasures. She gave them to me last Christmas as part of my gift, I cried haha. I have them sitting on my bookshelf now, along with the doll my Grandmother knit me. 🙂
Awww, that is a great story!
Oh man! My brother had ALL of those Hot Wheels toys — a garage and ramps etc. It was a ton of fun! My Mom kept so much of our stuff — my kids play kitchen and all the food for it is actually the same one I played with AGES ago! I’ve saved mostly clothes at this point, and some books. But will probably save some of their bigger/favorite toys!
I have saved NO clothes, but I may end up saving a few things here and there to make quilts out of later. By make quilts I mean have someone make them for me…..
So those sets are a desirable item! I vaguely remembered them being very popular as a kid and randomly I picked up a City Set (I think it must be some add) for like a dollar or something when our Big Lots closed down two years ago. They must have went into the backroom and found all these old toys because they were all covered in dark dust. I wish I had bought more of what they had. I also ended up with a quints doll set because I always wanted one and was jealous my cousin had one.
Oh they are SO desirable. They go for a lot on ebay. I need to find a treasure trove of old toys like that.
Oh wow, I had that Hot Wheels set when I was a kid! I loved cars and My Little Ponies about equally 🙂 My mom kept a Fisher Price Sesame Street Clubhouse from when I was a kid, and my daughter plays with it when she goes over their house. It’s so much better quality than Fisher Price stuff now.
And my daughter is going to be “Cinder-gorilla,” which is what she calls Cinderella! She saw the costume at Costco and was like ‘Cinder-gorilla!”
All that stuff is so much better quality than it used to be.
OMG that is hysterical that she says it like that!
I kept all the Thomas stuff, Legos and Build a Bear( mainly bc I paid so much for that stuff!) and some books. My nieces kids play with them every time they come to visit. I figure even if I have all granddaughters they will love the Thomas stuff bc it will be something they don’t have at home!
I am so saving all our Thomas stuff. We have SO much and it will never go out of style!
Another great place to look for the hot wheels ramp that not many people know about is shopgoodwill.com It is an auction site that is comprised of items being sold by Goodwill locations all around the country. I love to find a good deal and this site is full of them.
I didn’t even know that existed! I hope I can find it on there!
