Beauty Joy, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a brand new beauty / jewelry subscription box. Each month you will receive one hand-curated jewelry item, one full size beauty item, and 2-3 deluxe samples for only $15!

Beauty Joy ships via USPS on the 15th of the month.

The Box in the Box

The actual Beauty Joy box is a tad bigger than a Birchbox, but smaller than say, a GLOSSYBOX.  I always wonder how big boxes are so hopefully that helps with some perspective.

As you can see everything was beautifully packaged.  I could tell that a great deal of care went into packing this box and I appreciated that.

The Information Card

The November 2014 Beauty Joy box, which was their Grand Opening Box, included the following items:

~Handmade Bangle Bracelet with Silver European Beads ($15): The information card says that no two of these bracelets are exactly alike, which I think is cool.  I am generally more of a bracelet fan than a necklace fan, so I am happy and I think it will look good in a stack.

~Korres Volcanic Mineral Mascara ($20): I was quite impressed to see a Korres product in here!  This mascara is derived from volcanic soil (seriously) and increases lashes by 600 percent.  I didn’t quite see that large of a difference, but I liked it.

~Essie Sleek Stick Nail Appliques (Embrace the Lace) ($10.25): I don’t know if I could see myself using these on all my nails at once, but they are fun for one or two for sure!

~Avene Cleansing Cream ($2): This cleansing cream works to deep clean pores and is designed for oily and acne-prone skin, which I certainly have.  I am going to pack this in my travel bag because it’s a great size for a carry-on.

~Blistex Lip Balm ($1.50): I don’t think you can go wrong with putting a lip balm in a box. I am always happy to get them.  Maybe because I am constantly losing them and like to have one in every room of the house?  This stuff smells good and works great!

All totaled I came up with a value of $48.75 for the November 2014 Beauty Joy box.  I thought the value of this box was awesome and look forward to seeing if they can keep it up going forward.  They are off to a good start that’s for sure!

This looks amazing! I’m trying to subscribe and your coupon code is not active? Just wanted to give you a heads up!

Also, is it possible to confirm the Shipping in the US is free. They are trying to charge me $17.10 in Shipping to CA on a 3-Month Subscription.

Sorry for all the questions :/

      1. Jennifer

Okay, I have an e-mail in to them about the coupon. And I see what you mean about the shipping! It tried to charge me $15.93 when I checked it. But it’s free on a month to month which is odd. There must be some error.

        1. Courtney

Awesome, thank you!! I’m sure it’s just growing pains since they are a new subscription 🙂

          Jennifer,

Our apologies! It was a glitch on our part for both the coupon and the shipping! Shipping is now free for the monthly and the 3 month subscription! The coupon works fine too now! We appreciate the feedback!

Essie is that much? I had no idea! I found some (not that design) at Marshalls or TJ Maxx (I can’t remember which) a month ago for $1.99… or $2.99. Somewhere in that range! Just FYI.

    1. Jennifer

That’s how much it’s showing online!

Every time you talk about getting a new lip balm I have this vision of you in your office surrounded by lip balms just piled to the ceiling. It makes me laugh.

You must think I am nuts! LOL. Truthfully I end up misplacing them all the time. Or one of my kids steals them!!

  8. Agona

I love that this is a beauty/jewelry mix — which I think is the only box that does that. If you could just choose between silver or gold-toned, I’d be all over this! I love the bracelet you received, and would love to try the Korres mascara–I believe the Avene cleansing cream got good reviews in my InStyle magazine too! The only thing that would’ve made this box better is some sort of natural lip balm like Burt’s Bees instead of Blistex! 😀

    1. Jennifer

That would be a good option to allow you to pick!

    2. Angie Cooper

I was thinking the exact same thing about being able to choose between silver or gold. I personally have a mostly cool skin tone, so gold jewelry doesn’t look that great on me. Love silver, and love that bracelet!

Regarding the lip balm, I too love to have them at arm’s reach wherever I am (constantly losing them lol) but my lips are not a fan of Blistex (agreed, a natural choice like Burt’s Bees would be lovely).

At any rate, given a choice between silver or gold-toned jewelry items, I would definitely be inclined to give this subscription a try!

  9. Angie Cooper

This looks lovely! I do agree with Agona however on both points – silver vs. gold-toned (to work with skin tone); and a natural lip balm. My lips are not a fan of Blistex. At any rate, given the choice to make it a little more individualized I would definitely be more inclined to sign up for this one!
