Baxter and Buddy’s December 2014 BarkBox arrived today! Much to their dismay though, I wouldn’t let them see what was inside because I am saving it for Christmas for them.
If you aren’t familiar, BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand selected and approved by Scout (the dog), head product tester for BarkBox. Boxes can be customized based on the size of your pet (I get the Small box for the furries) and you can add an additional toy to your box for an extra $9/month.We have been getting BarkBox for ages and have always been satisfied with them.
BarkBox ships via DHL Global Mail and took over a week to arrive. Sometimes it’s just a few days, but other months it’s double that.
I was totally hoping that box would be Christmas themed and it was! I guess if your dogs don’t celebrate Christmas they wouldn’t be excited, but mine do so we are good.
The December 2014 BarkBox theme was “Happy Pawlidays” and included the following items:
~Simply Fido Penguin w/ Crinkle Paper Body ($12): I love these flat dog toys because I know there is never going to be a stuffing explosion. Plus, I also like the noise it makes. It’s a nice change from the squeaker toys we usually get!
~Butcher’s Block Bones 6″ Trachea ($2): Are these really only $2? That’s what the information card says and I am going with it. My dogs go nuts for these. I like that you can crack them in half so that they can share.
~Henrick the Elf from Quaker Pet ($7): Ha! I love it! I don’t think my dogs will actually touch this because it looks so much like a kid’s toy. But that’s fine because we’ll use it as their Elf on the Shelf going forward! They could use some watching over too.
~Polka Dog Sfizis: Lucky Duck Recipe ($6): These all natural treats are high in protein, low in fat and made with USA-raised ducks.
~Safemade Holiday Tartan Bandana ($5): Oh you better bet Baxter will be sporting this on Christmas morning. He’s all about costumes and sweaters and bandanas. Buddy? Not so much.
All totaled I came up with a value of $32 for the December 2014 BarkBox. As usual, I loved the theme and the curation and thought they did a great job with the variety of items they included.

Aside from the bandana, your box was totally different from mine (medium box). Those toys are the CUTEST! I think if I got those I’d just keep them for myself 🙂
What did you get?
We got a yule log plush, rubber lightbulb, freeze-dried liver and a rabbit chew. I love how Barkbox is so great about sticking to their themes!
omg, that penguin! <333
So cute right???
We just brought home an 8 week old boxer–do you think they have a puppy box? I already spoiled him so this would be fabulous.
I think they do this one based on size? But there are boxes just for puppies! Check out:

I get the big box for my Diesel. He got the elf and bandana but he also got a Yule log (water bottle toy), cranberry/Apple cookies, and lumps of coal (dog biscuits haha) he only got the bandana now. Everything else is Christmas presents, along with his box of tennis balls we bought him. Here he is sporting that cute bandana!
That box sounds really cute! I like the coal!
Hi Jennifer,
What’s the size of your Barkbox?
It’s for small dogs.
