December 2014 Mission Cute

MissionCute, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box full of cute stuff, but with a mission. Each MissionCute box comes with at least 2 items made by small-but-mighty artisans and local businesses and each month they partner with a different nonprofit to help promote their mission.  50% of the net proceeds of each box are donated to the chosen (you can vote on it) monthly nonprofit (this month is Seed of Health) and MissionCute also sponsors and works on a service project each month in their community.

MissionCute ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive to me.  Boxes ship on the 15th of the month. If you subscribe before the 10th of the month you will receive that month’s box.  If you subscribe after the 10th of the month, your subscription will start the following month.

MissionCute packaging is so cute!  I love seeing what they send and really do think they send cute things.

The Information Card

The December 2014 MissionCute partner is “Seed of Health” and 50% this month’s proceeds will be donated to them. Seed of Health is a non-profit organization run by UC Berkeley students with the mission of improving population health of underserved communities around the world.

Here is what the box included this month:

~Bauble Ring from Menucha Jewelry ($18): I love the word “bauble”.  And this is totally a bauble.  It’s a fun mother of pearl cluster ring and is sizable so you can wear it on whatever finger you wish!

~Mission Cute Infinity Scarf ($32): I wasn’t too sure about the plaid / polka dot combo at first, but I love it now.  It’s fun and unexpected and cute.

~Vanilla Bean Lotion from Libete Honey ($9): This lotion smells great! I’ve only used it once so far, but I thought it was very moisturizing and I think it’s great that Libete Honey also donated a portion of their profits to help support the freedom of girls and women caught in sex-trafficking.

~Holiday Pickle Ornament ($5): We have a pickle on our tree, but don’t quite follow the tradition exactly.  You are supposed to hide it and then the first child to find it on Christmas morning will receive extra gift from Santa or a year of good fortune.  But WB is so little that L would obviously find it every time.  LOL.  So I let L hide it on the tree and then B had to find it.  And he’s good at hiding it too!

~Printable Wisdom Greatest Hits Calendar ($29): You can get a download of these for $15 and print them yourself, but MissionCute printed them for us.  I absolutely love these.  They come with a magnetic clip so you can put them up on the fridge or wherever.  I am putting mine up in my office!

All totaled I came up with a value of $93 for the December 2014 MissionCute box. I am a big fan of MissionCute and they didn’t disappoint this month!  I am totally loving that calendar and it’s perfect because I had been looking for one and couldn’t find any that I loved!

What do you think of MissionCute? If you are interested in subscribing (I believe they have a wait list) or just want to check out more / look at previous boxes, click here.  They have also just launched a Mini MissionCute box for $20/month which consists of 2-3 hang-curated items which may be another option if you aren’t ready to try the full box!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was sent for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
