Olfactif, who kindly sent me this box to review, is the first and only monthly perfume subscription box. Each month subscribers receive some of the finest and hardest-to-find perfume samples from niche artists around the world. Samples are contained in 2.25mL glass vials and each vial has enough for 15 – 20 wearings. In addition, you will receive an $18 credit to put toward a full bottle of a featured scent, every month.
Olfactif ships via USPS around the 1st of the month. If your first purchase is before the 15th of the month they will ship out your collection immediately. Otherwise your first box will ship around the 1st of the following month.
Every Olfactif box comes packaged in a sleek black case and includes details on how to smell each of your scents.
The December 2014 Olfactif theme was “Coming Home” and included the following scents:
~Vanille DSH Perfumes: Just by reading the descriptions of all this month’s scents I knew I would love them and have trouble picking a favorite. And I was right. Vanille has “warm, gently sweet vanilla notes round out the base while tart lemon and zesty bergamot”. It doesn’t smell like a baked good, but it is delicious smelling!
~Black Flower Mexican Vanilla: Black Flower Mexican Vanilla is another fabulous scent. It’s got notes of “Mexican vanilla absolute, lemon, grapefruit, caramel, nutmeg, gardenia, jasmine, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, musk, and tonka” and I found it to be rich, but very easy to wear. This could easily be worn everyday as a signature scent. Love!
~Lira Xerjoff: Let me first start off by telling you that this is $290 for 75mL (or about 2.5 ounces). Ouch. But it’s amazing. I mean of course it is. It’s $290! The bottle may just be the craziest / fanciest perfume bottle I have ever seen. Notes on this one include “blood orange, bergamot, lavender, Bulgarian rose, Egyptian jasmine, cinnamon, licorice, vanilla, and caramel”. Another incredible scent this month!
The December 2014 Olfactif was easily my favorite collection to date. I loved every single scent and could easily see myself picking up more of the first two scents. I loved that they had a mix of price points this month and look forward to seeing what next month brings!
