~Good morning! We had such a fun weekend here. Friday night was Story Time with Santa at L’s school and then my cousins came into down and we went to a fabulous dinner and Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo. This year they had these 3-D glasses that you could buy that made the lights look like shapes. I had no clue what the lady was talking about, but I figured the kids would want them. OMG they were the coolest things ever. You put them on and they turned all the lights into snowmen or snowflakes (depending on which set of glasses you got). And they work everywhere, with all lights. For sure worth that $1!
~Congratulations to Kristy Franciosi who won the Style Quarterly by PashBox giveaway and Brianna Hedditch who won the Neiman Marcus PopSugar Must Have Box! Check your e-mails ladies! And if you missed it over the weekend, make sure you check out (and enter) the PopSugar Must Have Holiday for Her giveaway!
~I stumbled across this dress on Pinterest last night and think it is the most gorgeous dress I have ever seen. It’s by Oscar de la Renta and I believe it’s meant to be a wedding dress? Whatever. I just love and wanted to show someone else. LOL!
~LOTS of subscription boxes coming this week! I’m expecting Austin Lloyd, Barkbox, Doodle Crate, FabFitFun, ipsy, Kiwi Crate, Little Lace Box, Love With Food (I need to check on this since my tracking shows it was already delivered), My Subscription Addiction Quarterly #MSAQ02 and PopSugar Must Have Holiday for Her to name a few. I think a lot of boxes are shipping early this month because of the holiday and that’s fine with me!
~What’s everyone reading right now? I was checking out Amazon last night and was thinking of maybe “What Alice Forgot“? It seems like it’s a fairly easy read and something I could get into quick. Any more recommendations?
What do you have going on this week? Are you all done with your holiday shopping? And of course, what subscription boxes are you expecting?
Those glasses are so awesome! My boss brought a bunch in last year because his kids loved them – so fun! Also, “What Alice Forgot” is an excellent book – I have been reading all the author’s other work because I enjoyed it so much.
They are genius. So so so smart. I love them!
What Alice Forgot is the best of her books. Read it.
Okay! Will do!
I loved that book! Totally worth the read.
Awesome! Thanks!
I wish I could see through 3D glasses. I have a depth perception problem due to an eye muscle imbalance (have had three surgeries for it), though, and none of that stuff works for me. (Though the surgeries worked — at least I don’t have lazy eye any more!)
That is interesting! I didn’t even know that could happen?
I loved that book and would definitely recommend it. I love all of her novels.
I really liked the one I read and this one gets rave reviews, but it’s good to hear from people who have read it!
Right now I’m listening to “the snow queen” since audible gave it as its free members holiday gift. Also reading “fifteen and what? Testing the waters” on my Kindle app having trouble putting that one down its really good so far.
I’m nearly done reading “Flight Behavior”. It’s really good. I got one of my PopSugar Decemeber boxes and HelloFlo yesterday. Looking forward to getting Loot Crate, Surprise Ride, Citrus Lane, Little Lace Box, Ozone SOTMC, and Sevenly CAUSEBOX this week 😀
I’m reading 3 things right now… (I teach English, so I have one book in my classroom for SSR times and I typically have one or two going at home).
In school, I’m reading “The Grimm Conclusion”, which is middle-school appropriate & a hilarious retelling of Grimm’s fairy tales with an interjecting narrator (the narrator talks directly to the reader, at times interrupting the story).
At home, I have “Dark Places” by Gillian Flynn – which I’m loving, but went on the back burner while I was working on my semester exams. I’m hoping to finish it this week. I’m also just starting “Without You, there is no Us” by Suki Kim. It’s a memoir of a woman that taught in North Korea. Really interesting perspective.
I liked that book…and I won’t lie, I totally read it because of the title….
Those 3D glasses are so cool! My kids and nieces would love them! I’m gonna check them out! And I never know what book to read so maybe I’ll start 2014 with the one you mentioned. Thanks!
Are the glasses “Holiday Specs”? Those are the ones I buy in bulk through Amazon and send out in my Christmas cards every year. They are always a hit and even work on street lights, stop lights, car lights! 🙂
