Agent Ribbit, who kindly provided me this box to review, sends you and your little detectives everything you need for exciting science investigations, every month! Boxes are designed for kids ages 4-9 and includes at least 4 science investigations and creative learning projects in every box.
Agent Ribbit ships via USPS and took just a few days to arrive to me.
This was my first ever Agent Ribbit box and I was hoping that the kids would get a chance to work on it over the holidays, but that hasn’t happened yet, so I thought I’d just go ahead with my review.
The theme of this Agent Ribbit box was “Reactions” and included the following projects:
~Kablowie: Kablowie involves mixing an acid and a base together and seeing the reaction they make. They suggest doing this one over your sink because it could make a mess ;).
~Photon Art: For this project you take your magic sun paper, glue it on top of cardboard (you can use the top of the box) and then place your objects on the paper. After putting it in the sun until the paper becomes light, take the objects off and then submerge it in a tray of water. And boom, your images are set. I am not sure what I did to my magic paper, but I can tell you that it does work ;).
~Super Spume: This one could get messy, so they right away suggest to set up lots of newspapers or do the test in the bathtub or over the sink. This involves testing the reaction between yeast and hydrogen peroxide. This is going to foam. And foam a lot! We’ve done this before and it’s really cool!
~Green & Clean: Green & Clean is a multi-step project that is performed over a few hours. First you pour vinegar over the penny and see what happens. Then you pour a vinegar / salt mixture over the penny and check on it again to see what happens.
~Pollywog Pack: The last project is one to get creative with. You can use the items provided and make your own imaginary reactions.
Other Supplies: A lot of the projects call for gloves and safety glasses, so I just wanted to point out that these are both included in the box!
Since these are custom projects I couldn’t do t cost breakdown on this box. If you are looking for an easy way to do some science projects at home with your little one, this is totally one to look into. It’ll save you lots of time which you do use to spend having more fun working on projects!
