Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her.  You are able to select between a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.

This selection is for WB who is 2.5 years old.  I also receive a book for L (he’s 6), but that one hasn’t arrived yet.

The Package

Zoobean ships via USPS Media Mail and took under a week to arrive.

The Book

Leonardo the Terrible Monster

WB’s book selection this month was “Leonardo the Terrible Monster” (which is priced at $13.73 on Amazon right now).  It’s about Leonardo who is a terrible monster.  He’s not a terrible monster because he’s super mean and scary.  No, he’s terrible at being a monster.  It’s a very cute book and really works for any age, not just little ones!

The App

The App – Hugless Douglas

Our app selection this month was “Hugless Douglas” which is $2.99 on the iTunes store right now.  It looks like an adorable app, but I think it’s something that WB would look at once and then be done with.  He’s more into apps that are all games (or at least game like) than books.

The Zoobean plan I received is $16.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion.  If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation.  And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrow it from your local library!
