Chococurb, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a chocolate discovery subscription experience. Inside each Chococurb box, you’ll find assortment of 5 to 7 chocolates or chocolate related items. These items can come from small, local chocolatiers to more established, national brands. Every box will have something new, exciting, and absolutely delicious.
Chococurb ships via USPS Priority Mail on the second Monday of each month.
There was a lot of unpacking to get to the goodies in this box. Once I opened the USPS envelope I found the aqua box and inside of that was the actual Chococurb box. No way any bars are escaping from this one in route.
Everything looked SO good! Sadly I knew that this box would tempt me too much so I gave it to my brother yesterday to take home and enjoy. Seriously, no one leaves my house empty handed. I will not let you!
Chococurb doesn’t include a product information card, but they did have a card with general information about the box and their mission. The January 2015 Chococurb box contained the following bars:
~Theo Chai Tea Milk Chocolate ($3.25): This milk chocolate bar is blended with warm, exotic chai spices and black tea. I haven’t had this specific bar, but I have tried other chocolates with tea in them and I am pleased to report that they didn’t remind me too much of tea ;).
~Divine 100% Dark Chocolate with Mango & Coconut (~$4): The Divine bar has dark rich velvety chocolate with real pieces of mango and coconut that add a luscious tropical twist.
~TCHO Galactic Gelato ($6.95): Of all the bars in the box, this is the one I was most sad to have to part with. It’s described as “mint astronaut gelato floating in spicy dark chocolate”. Sounds cool right? Hopefully my brother will leave a comment here on how it tasted because I am super curious.
~TAZA Chocolate Raspberry NIB Crunch ($4.95): I used to not like “stuff” in my chocolate, but subscription boxes have changed that. I suspect that this bar which has “dark stone ground chocolate with a burst of raspberry essence and a satisfying cacao nib crunch” is quite amazing.
~dolcetta Artisan Sweets Dark Coconut ($4): This bar is “dark and dreamy”. It’s 65% dark chocolate surrounded by creamy toasted coconut and white chocolate “gianduja”. I have no idea what that is, but it sounds good. And fancy.
~Pacari Lemongrass Chocolate ($1.20): I don’t believe that I have ever seen lemongrass in a chocolate bar before! It’s described as having an almost floral taste and according to their site was selected as an Editor pick from Oprah.
All totaled I came up with a value of $24.35 for the January 2015 Chococurb. I expected the value to be a bit higher, but on the other hand they don’t bill themselves as a subscription box to save you money. They are a chocolate experience. And that they delivered!
