Two questions today…..

1. How many times do you wear the same pair of jeans before you wash them? I asked this question once before a few years ago and everyone had an opinion on it! Some people washed after every wear. Some people waited months in between washings.  I am somewhere in between.  Getting your jeans to fit perfectly after washing them is an art and the less I have to do that, the better!

2. What is your best beauty hack?  I was reading a Buzzfeed Article last night and found a few tricks I need to try asap.  They both involve Elmer’s glue and nail polish.  One hack recommends putting down a layer of glue on your nails and then putting a glitter polish over it for super easy polish removal.  The other suggests painting Elmers glue around your nails.  This lets you clean up around your nails quickly and leaves you with a perfect manicure.  Has anyone tried these?  I feel like I need to get a bottle of Elmers glue and get these tested!  And if you have any other tricks / hacks, clue me in!!

Can’t wait to hear your answers!

When I paint my nails, they usually look pretty good. Not because I’m super precise or anything but because I’m super lazy. I just throw the polish on all willy-nilly and then take a bath or shower and scrape the polish that’s all over my fingers/toes off when they’ve been soaking in the water for a while. Works every time.

Exactly what I do. When I’m done showering I just pick off the excess. However, this also means I cannot do my nails unless I have time to shower afterwards. (well, I can, but I also could leave the house with pjs on, but I don’t.)

        me too! 🙂

Haha, I can’t do anything for hours after I paint my nails because my hands turn from being able to do anything to being so dainty that even the slightest breeze would ruin them when I paint my nails. Like seriously, I still feel like the polish is wet 3 hours after I know for a fact it’s dry.

Lol This comment cracked me up! That’s exactly how I feel. After doing my nails, I walk around with my fingers splayed, trying to touch and grab things while barely using my fingers like some kind of princess Houdini. XD

I’m so happy to finally learn that I’m not the only person who does that!!

There’s an OPI base coat that’s basically the same as the Elmer’s glue thing. Only problem is, if your hands get too wet for too long, you’ll suddenly look down and find yourself missing polish on a couple of nails — the glue is water-soluble and comes right off, taking the polish with it.

I don’t currently have any jeans that fit. =( But when I do, I wash them after every wear. I just can’t stand the thought of wearing anything more than once without washing it. Plus my dog gets goobers on everything (as do many very large dogs). It’s hard to get that off without throwing your pants in the wash.

I HAD to get the OPI Glitter Off when it first came out. I did read that people compare it to Elmer’s glue, and I’ve noticed it smells a lot like glue. But it gets the job done. I can typically remove at least seven nails without any extra work (sometimes the base seems to miss a few spots.)

I have to wash my jeans every time I wear them. Not because I think its gross or anything (I refrained from admitting how long I wear PJs when you asked :p) but because they fit so perfectly when they shrink up in the wash. After a day of wearing them they get ‘old lady saggy butt’.

this tutorial lasted almost 7 days for this busy prefessional traveling mommy.

I went on a business trip = showering morning and night and full hair and make-up … and I had not a chip for 7 days.

Swear by it now. It does take a while to do, because of drying and waiting, but hey – a good show on DVR and you’re set.

I’m in the middle. I kindof wash them when I get the feeling they are dirty so if I wear them on a hot day I will wash right away but here in winter I wear them for awhile. It also depends on the jeans. Some of mine stretch out more then others so they have to at least go in the dryer more often then others do. 😉
No clue on the elmers. Sounds interesting but I’m a lazy polish person too. I normally get a chance to do my nails at night so I just wait until the shower in the morning to clean them up.

I wash my jeans when they get bad creases behind the knees. Mine feel better after they’re stretched out a little bit so I always have to do some clean-jean-calisthenics when putting them on right out of the wash 😉

I’ve heard that you can freshen them up by putting them in the freezer (I’ve tried that but don’t get it). Just like the pjs- I do the fresh-smell test! Maybe wash after the second time wearing.

  8. benita

I typically wear my jeans three times before washing. The second wear is my favorite since I always feel like my jeans are too tight out of the dryer. Sometimes I’ll even go four or five times to be honest! But, it’s also because I live in PJ/soft pants when I’m in my house. Those jeans come right off when I know I’m home for the rest of the day.
