Hamptons Lane, who kindly sent me this box to review, curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $47/month and are revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, Summer Cocktail, The Best of BBQ, Coastal Italy, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.
Hamptons Lane ships later on in the month, but I received my box early for review purposes.
I had gotten a glimpse of a spoiler photo for this one, but I didn’t know details on all of the products included. The first look gave me no hints though!
The February 2015 Hamptons Lane theme was “50 Shades of Chicken” and was inspired by the book & movie, 50 Shades of Grey. This box includes the following items for a romantic roast chicken dinner for two with a cheeky twist:
~Fifty Shades of Chicken ($15.92): Ha! This is my favorite cookbook ever. Not only is it fun to read, but it has pictures of shirtless men cooking. It’s hysterical. You need this cookbook. It would make a an awesome Valentine’s gift!
~Norpro Vertical Non-Stick Roaster ($13): We don’t own a vertical roaster, but we do now! We’ll be using it to make some of the recipes in the cookbook.
~Pink Peppercorn Lemon Thyme All-Purpose Rub by Spiceologist ($10.95): According to the website you can use this one for just about anything. From fish to chicken to burgers and potatoes – it works! We haven’t used it to cook with yet, but B will be.
~Chicken Trussing Rope: Hamptons Lane referred to this as chicken bondage rope. Do I need to say more? LOL!
~Lusty Lemon Extra Virgin Olive Oil by Calivirgin ($7.20): Good olive oil is a staple around here. We don’t have a true favorite – we like to try them all. This one will be up next.
~Lemon Zest Flake Salt by Jacobsen Salt Co. (~$2): I snuck a taste of this and it’s delicious! I can’t imagine what it wouldn’t be good on.
All totaled I came up with a value of $49.02 for the February 2015 Hamptons Lane box. They knocked this theme out of the park. It was super creative and perfectly timed with the release of the movie. I am telling you, you need this cookbook!
