Spring 2015 Yuzen Subscription Review
Spring 2015 Yuzen

This week is off to a good start subscription box wise – my Spring 2015 Yuzen is here!

If you aren’t familiar, Yuzen is a quarterly subscription box that sends you a little Zen for every season.  Each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies.  Yuzen was previously a monthly subscription box (this was a while ago), but switched to quarterly early last year, which I like even better.

The Box

Yuzen ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just two business days to arrive.  I love that they use Priority Mail and I LOVE that they ship ahead of the season so you can get prepared.

Inside the outer brown box is the actual Yuzen box itself.  They have an amazing presentation and these boxes would be easily gifted.

Inside the box is even more gorgeous packaging.  All of the items arrive in an organza bag and everything looked incredible.

The Information Card

The Spring 2015 Yuzen box included the following items to help you get into the spirit as the warmer months approach:

~Acure Organics Lip Lush (Daang!) ($7.99): I don’t know how many different shades of this Yuzen sent out, but “Daang!” is gorgeous.  This gloss is made from food and plant based ingredients and is 100% natural, vegan and cruelty free.  I love the price point on this as well. It’s something that you could fall in love with and not feel about about buying over more of.

~Chocolove Toffee & Almonds in Milk Chocolate Bar ($1.25): I have always enjoyed the Chocolove chocolate bars I have tried in the past, but I think I will end up passing this one on to B.  I like my chocolate without nuts.

~CO-PUR Hand Balm ($8): I was surprised by now non-greasy this was.  It was moisturizing, but didn’t leave my hands feeling all slippery.  It works well on cuticles too.  I like the idea of this for traveling or in your purse because you will never have to worry about it leaking.

~Innersense Organic Beauty Pure Harmony Hairbath and Pure Inspiration Daily Conditioner (~$4): This shampoo is sulfate-free and both have an assortment of plant ingredients.  The containers aren’t huge, but I’ll be able to get a few uses out of them.

~Nubian Heritage Honey & Black Seed 24 Hour All Natural Deodorant ($7.99): I am surprised by how much I love this.  It smells really good and seems to work well.  I am a new fan of this brand!

~Spa Ritual Nail Lacquer (Love Is In The Air) ($6.50): Spa Ritual polishes have been in a few subscription boxes and they make a great polish.  It lasts a bit longer than most polishes and I’ve always found the formula to be very consistent.  All subscribers are receiving this pink color for “the romance of Valentine’s Day and for the freshness of Spring”.

~Spa Technologies Micro Pearl Dermabrasion ($8.47): This is a seaweed based cream and it uses tiny pearl crystals to exfoliate your skin.  I am using (well testing) some other face stuff right now, so I only tried this on my hands.  I could notice a difference after using it just once and thought it made my hands a lot softer!

~Yurrku Australia Utopia Night Cream ($16): I am not testing out any night creams right now, so I will be using this one. What I should do is use the same products and switch one up at a time so I can really see what it does, but I am so impatient to test stuff out.  I can’t see any long-term effects of this yet, but it didn’t make me break out last night, so that’s good.

All totaled I came up with an estimated value of $60 for the Spring 2015 Yuzen box.  I don’t think that Yuzen has ever let me down and they didn’t let me down with this season either.  Their boxes are well curated and the products always feel very spa-like.  I subscribe to Yuzen on my own and have for about two years now and I really would recommend them.

I love this box! Nive range of variety and high quality products. This was the box that introduced me to the Tatcha brand. I love the deodorant, its perfect since I have been using only natural deodorant for the last year, the honest company spray worked well for me as well. The hand balm is such a neat idea I never thought to look for or make hand balm in a tube. I try not to carry around too much but in this cold weather its perfect fits right in my little purse!!! Great box!

I LOVE Yuzen! It is my favorite subscription box by far and never lets me down. The product size and curation are always fantastic and the packaging is to die for. They really have the opening experience down. I love the deodorant and the night cream. Plus they include high end brands like SpaRitual and Spa Technologies that not many other boxes ever have. If anyone is looking to try a new box the $33 per quarter is way worth it. They also have a gift program and I intend sending Yuzen to some of my friends.

I am so happy that I found this box! The $33 price is a great deal for $60 worth of product. And it is sent quarterly to give enough time to try everything and the sizes are good enough to get a chance to really try things. Thank you Yuzen!

I subscribed to Yuzen on Saturday, and my box shipped Monday morning! Even though I know what’s in it, I’m very excited for it to arrive in a few days. It’s nice that it’s double the value, but what I really appreciate is the variety. I know I’ll use every single thing and hopefully discover some new brands to like.

I received my box and think it is beautiful. The size of products are great and all brands I have never tried before. Fantastic box that I highly recommend to anyone who has not tried it yet.

I got this box and just love it! Yuzen is one of my very favorites. But, I was confused on one thing – the Spa Technologies cream. They didn’t put very clear instructions on its usage. Do you rinse it off as you would most exfoliators? I want to make sure I use it right so I don’t waste it. 🙂

I researched this online and it is to be rinsed off. Apply to moistened skin, lightly scrub with product, then rinse. I hope this helps!

This is my first Yuzen box and I love it! I wish I had head of it sooner. I love that all the products are well curated for people like me seeking natural and organic ingredients. Love the lip lush and deodorant especially. The eye cream has a really nice texture and the cleanser is really nice. I cant wait to get my next box from them. Anyone seeking a box that is well packaged – this is the one for you!

  8. Connie

Thank you for introducing me to Yuzen. This is a fabulous box! And I love that it comes every 3 months instead of every month so I can really try the products they include. The box is amazingly presented and the items are great. I like that it is curated so I can feel good about using the items they send.

I loved everything in the Yuzen box except the Yurrku Utopia Night cream. It was a little too oily for me plus the scent was terrible. However, I tried using it as a foot cream, and it is great for that! I have the same question as Brandy about the Spa Technologies Micro Cream. You can use it as a cream but it leaves the little bumpies on your face. Do you wipe it away? I tried looking on their website, but it doesn’t explain it there.
