Citrus Lane March 2015 Subscription Box Review (3 Year-Old Boy)

I received one of my two March 2015 Citrus Lane boxes today.  The box I received is my “second” subscription which I have aged for an almost 5 year-old boy.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they always have great coupon codes that let you try them out very inexpensively!

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive.  I generally receive my box between the 15th and 20th of the month.

First Look

I actually hadn’t gotten a chance to check out too many March boxes yet, so I didn’t really know what to except.  Even after the first look I still I didn’t even know which of my boxes this one was.  I actually had to look it up in my account before I wrote this review. In my research I also discovered that my other box (which is for WB who is almost 3) is likely going to contain these exact same items.  Hmm.

The Information Card

The March 2015 Citrus Lane box is designed to stimulate the imagination and get your preschooler excited about new responsibilities.  Here is what the box included:

~Reusable Sticker Pad from Melissa and Doug ($4.99): According to the packaging and the information card, this is a Citrus Lane exclusive.  It looks just like the one on the M&D site though, so I don’t really know what’s exclusive about it.  Anyway, WB loves stickers (L does too), and will happily cover himself in these the next chance he gets.  Oh and if you received this from Citrus Lane this month, tell me, did you have trouble opening it?  OMG.  I almost gave up.  The plastic they put around this was nearly indestructible. It was a battle.

~Wallet from Stephen Joseph ($8.99): Super cute wallet, but I think it’s too young for L and too old for WB.  Although, they could play with it around the house when they “shop” and stuff.  L has absolutely zero interest carrying a wallet anywhere in the real world because he does not want to spend “his” money on anything.  I have him money the other day for something at school and right before he left I asked him if he was sure it was in his pocked.  Uhh, no.  He put that in his bank and had B pay for what he needed. LOL!

~Custom Apron from Handstand Kids ($20): This is another Citrus Lane exclusive.  It looks exactly like one Handstands Kids has in their shop though so I just used that price.  WB was more than happy to model this for me and he’s SO ready to bake something in it.  As soon as we take the tags off anyway.  It’s adorable.

~Honey Graham Sticks from Back to Nature ($1): Nothing overly exciting about these, but they are good and the kids like them.

All totaled I came up with a value of $34.98 for the March 2015 Citrus Lane box.  I like this box, but nothing really wows me from it.  Well, I do love that apron and love that it’s from a new to CL brand, but the other items are kind of predictable. I’d love to see a bunch of NEW brands in here like the apron! I have an annual subscription so I pay only $19/month for this one.  If I paid the full $29/month I probably wouldn’t be as okay with this box as I am.  Citrus Lane puts together a solid box, but they haven’t been AMAZING lately.  Hopefully that changes next month??  We’ll see!

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  If you are interested in subscribing, click here and use coupon code “LUCKYBOX” to get 50% off your first box.
