Love With Food, who kindly sent me this box to review, sends members a curated box filled unique gourmet food items. The “Tasting Box” is $12/month and offers with 8+ snacks and the “Deluxe” box is $19.95/month and includes 16-20 snacks. Love With Food also offers a Gluten-Free box for $29/month which includes 8-12 surprise gluten-free snacks each month. Each box brings new delights, with bites that vary based on seasonal themes. In addition, Love With Food donates a meal (some months is even two meals) to a child in need with each box purchased, which you can read more about here. I received the March 2015 Gluten-Free Box to review.
Love With Food ships via USPS and took just under a week this month. If you order by the 1st of the month your box will arrive that month. If you order after the 1st, it will arrive the following month. Orders placed today will begin with the April box which ships around the 10th of April.
I have subscribed to Love With Food on my own for years, but I have only ever received the Tasting Box. The Gluten-Free box is more than double the size of the Tasting Box and was packed full!
The March 2015 Love With Food box was Healthy Grocery Finds and was curated by Megan Roosevelt, the Healthy Grocery Girl. Here is what was included:
~Moringa Organic Tea by Miracle tea: This tea is certified USDA organic and provides a quick pick me up. Well, that’s what the information card says anyway. I am not a tea fan so I’ll be passing this along.
~Zesty Nacho Kale Chips by Rhythm Superfoods: Kale chips. Does anyone sort of like Kale Chips? I kind of feel like you either love them or you hate them. I’m in the later group. Although I will say that I enjoy kale chips about 100x more than I like seaweed snacks.
~Ancient Grain Granola by Purely Elizabeth: Can anyone tell me why they call it ancient grain granola? What does this mean exactly? This stuff is good though. It’d be good sprinkled on yogurt or eaten plain.
~Lightly Salted Plantain Chips by Turbana: These are awesome for L’s lunch and he’s a big fan. They are cripsy and salty without being TOO salty.
~Hemp Hearts by Manitoba Harvest: These are growing on me. I still don’t know that I want to snack on them right out of the bag, but they add good crunch to salads.
~Roasted Chickpeas with Sea Salt by The Good Bean: These are another good item for L’s lunches and snacks. You can only have graham crackers so many times before you are bored with them. These are a good grab and go snack too and have a great crunch to them.
~Sea Salt Bops by Good Boy Organics: I first tried Bops a year or so ago in a Love With Food box. Listen, they aren’t quite like regular chips, but I am a big fan. They are organic, gluten-free and non-GMO. Good stuff!
~Almond Butter Cacao Truffle by Two Moms in the Raw: I have to tell you I wasn’t expecting greatness from this. But it was REALLY good. If you didn’t tell me I would never have known it was gluten free.
~Gluten Free Pie Crust by Bob’s Red Mill: B actually has plans to make pie this weekend, so maybe he’ll try a crust with this flour and then make one his normal way.
~Strawberry Macaroons by Hail Merry: I have tried the chocolate macaroons from Hail Merry and preferred those to the strawberry, but both are good. I’m normally not a big fan of coconut, but it wasn’t at all overpowering in these.
~24 Carrot Orange Fruit Snack by Fruigees: Totally an L item. He’s the only one that loves these squeezy pouches. WB used to be a fan, but now he just won’t. I will pack this in L’s snack tomorrow.
~Organic Mexican Seasoning by The Spice Hunter: Oddly I think this is the item I am most excited about from the box. I love Mexican food and shredded chicken crockpot tacos are the best. This will be gone within a week I am sure.
~Coupons / Offers: Boxes also include an assortment of coupons and offers from products in the box. If you want buy a full-size of something you found in here and loved, these are great.
I never do a cost breakdown for Love With Food boxes, but the Gluten-Free box contained about 15 items, which makes each item less than $2/each. That is more than fair and it’s an awesome way to try a lot of new items at once. You may not love them all and that’s okay, but you’ll certainly find some new favorites!
