Messy Box is the latest subscription box offering by A Beautiful Mess. The box is $24.99/month (less if you purchase an annual subscription) and each box is filled with items to scrapbook with including paper and cards, stickers, embellishments, and special items! I don’t scrapbook, but I like crafty things so I thought that I’d give this a try.
My Messy Box shipped via UPS and took just a few days to arrive. Not too many subscription boxes use UPS (I can think of just a handful), but I love it because boxes always arrive so quickly. Messy Box will ship your first kit ASAP. Monthly boxes ship around the 10th of the month.
I was really interested how everything in the kit would be packaged. I was quite pleased to see that everything was sealed nicely and looked very neat. I had feared this could be a mess of paper shifting around in a box, but that was not the case at all.
Messy Box didn’t include a true information card, however they listed all of the contents of this month’s box online so it wasn’t necessary. The March 2015 Messy Box theme is Pattern Mixing and includes the following supplies to make a simply splendid album:
~9×12″ pattern pages: This month’s kit included six patterned 9×12 pages. I love every single one of these and will end up using them to make gift tags, page flags and postcards!
~9×12″ transparency design: This “Life is Beautiful” transparency is my favorite item in the box. I don’t know why I didn’t think of adding something like this to pictures on my own, but I didn’t. Totally love!
~Journaling Cards: These cards are printed on the front and back and again have super fun patterns and designs. The boys and I will use these to make some fun collages and pictures.
~Days of the Week + Sentiments Washi Tape: Well, you know I love washi tape, so of course I think this is great. Plus I don’t have any days of the week washi tape so I obviously needed this. Obviously.
~Gold Chipboard Alphas: I am stashing these away for L’s next school project! At least once a month we have an big posted type assignment that he has to do and these letters will be awesome for his name.
~White Brads, Vellum Hearts & Confetti: I should have taken one picture of all of these, but I didn’t think about it at the time. These are just fun decorations for your messy book (or whatever you are making).
I didn’t do a cost breakdown for this box, but I know that scrapbooking items are expensive. $24.99 does not seem at all out of line for this one. I probably won’t subscribe to this once monthly (I think I would though if I did scrapbook), but I’ll pick it up every once in a while because it is a fun one!
