UrthBox March 2015 Subscription Box

UrthBox is a monthly subscription that delivers healthy new snacks right to your door. They offer a variety of box options (The Classic, The Gluten-Free, The Vegan and The Diet) which come in sizes ranging from Mini to Large. The Mini “Discovery Box” is $9/month and contains 4-5 snacks. The Small “Part-Time Snacker” box is $19/month and contains 8-10 snacks. The Medium “Happy Snacker” box is $29/month and contains 14-16 products. And finally, the Large “Full-Time Snacker” Box is $49/month and contains 20-24 snacks.  I subscribe to the Medium “Happy Snacker” box.

The Box

UrthBox ships via USPS on the 15th of the month. Your first box will ship on the 15th of the following calendar month. Meaning that if you sign up today, your first box will ship on April 15th.

First Look

UrthBox boxes are always packed full, but this one was also quite heavy.

The Card

UrthBox doesn’t include a detailed information card (I wish they would though), but my March 2015 Medium “Happy Snacker” box contained the following items:

~Luke’s Organic Cheddar Clouds: WB and I both loved these.  They were light and airy but still had a nice cheddar flavor.  I would love to find a big bag of these!

Luke’s Organic Cheddar Clouds

~Deep River Aged Cheddar Horseradish Potato Chips: It’s possible these are an acquired taste.  I tried them and thought no way. But then I had another one and thought okay, these aren’t so bad.  They’ve got a kick to them for sure.

~Curry Cashew Snakarola: Meh.  These are just kind of there for me.  I didn’t hate them, but I wouldn’t seek them out anywhere either.

~Snapea Crisps: I have been a big fan of Snapea Crisps since I first tried them.  They give you that crunch / salt you crave (or that I crave anyway) without being totally awful for you like a lot of other snacks are. They are a win!

Snapea Crisps

~Sheffa Tasty Snack Mix: I’d list everything that is in this mix, but it’d probably be shorter to list what’s not in it!  It’s got nuts and raisins and seeds and tropical fruits and more.  Totally a B snack.

Sheffa Tasty Snack Mix

~Urban Remedy No Oatmeal Cookie and Banana Brittle: So they were right about the “No Oatmeal Cookie” one.  It’s no oatmeal cookie.  It’s way crunchier and seemed to be more like a granola bar to me.  But that Banana Brittle?  Wow.  Now that’s a good snack.  It’s banana tasting without being too much and is perfectly cripsy and delicious.

Cook

~Rachel Michael’s Gourmet Popcorn – Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar: I don’t believe I have ever tried Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar Popcorn before, but I’m a fan. The flavor was good without being too much

PopCorn

~Vertical Maple Water: So I thought this was going to be horrible, but it was actually good!  Granted I couldn’t really taste any maple in it, but that’s okay.

Vertical Maple Water

~Creative Snacks Co. Dark Chocolate Expresso Beans: If there was a snack in there that I was happy we got two of, it’s these.  They really are a coffee lovers delight and make a great mid-afternoon snack!

Dark Chocolate Expresso Beans

~Angell Bars Organic Candy Bar: I tried to find these online to see what other types of bars they offered (because this one was good – like a dark chocolate milky way without the caramel), but I cannot find them for sale anywhere.  They don’t have a website and their Facebook hasn’t been updated since 2012.  I don’t know what’s up with these exactly!  The bar wasn’t expired or anything so someone must be making them somewhere?  And I’d quite like to find more!

~Smooch Pouch: L (my 6 year-old) is the only one in the house who really likes the pouch trend so I’ll pack this as a snack for him.

Smooch

~Energy Gummy Bears: L spied these and his eyes light up.  But no, he does not need energy snacks of any kind!  B’s planning on starting running again now that the weather is better, so he’ll appreciate these.

Energy Gummy Bears

~Smooze!: We have gotten these in a few subscription boxes in the past and they are a big hit.  Both boys love them, but L really does!
