~Good morning! Not too much really going on here this week. WB has been sleeping horribly (seasonal allergies?) which means I have been too. Poor guy! I mentioned it yesterday, but B may be traveling a ton coming up (we’re talking like from now till the beginning of July he may be home for a total of 2 weeks), so we’re just trying to enjoy some family time while we can.
~I am finally going to learn to use my sewing machine today. I ended up snagging a Lily + Target hammock (which the kids are obsessed with) and it came in a case made out of the same fabric as the hammock. It’s so pretty and I can store the hammock in a garbage bag in the winter if necessary, so I decided I wanted to use the fabric from the case to make pillows. We took the case apart at the seams to get a flat piece of fabric and my mom and I are going to run to the fabric store today and get material for the back of the pillows. And then it’s time to get to work! My mom actually knows how to sew, so it shouldn’t be too bad.
~I think all of the Baby Foot magic (grossness) has ended and I now have amazingly soft feet. I am impressed. Very impressed. But I for sure would do it in February or March next time when it’s freezing out. I like socks, but I dislike wearing them when I could be wearing flip-flops.
~I got a ton of subscription boxes in the mail yesterday, but I should still have a few boxes tricking in. I know the Nina Garcia Quarterly box should be shipping soon and am REALLY hoping that the POPSUGAR CFDA box ships sooner than they originally said it would. I am really curious to see what it is in that one!
~Easter is long over, but I finally found Peeps Milk! The boys were thrilled and declared it amazing. We tried the chocolate marshmallow and the regular marshmallow one. L asked if it was made from real marshmallows. Uhh, I’m going to guess no! It’s super thick and is kind of like drinking a melted milkshake. No wonder they like it.
That’s about it from here! What are you doing this weekend? Any big plans? What book are you reading right now?
I am currently reading Dan Brown’s Inferno which is amazing.
Also, day 3 of Baby Foot and the “magic” hasn’t started yet…I’ve been soaking my feet a few times a day to see if that helps to speed up the process though!
Oh gosh, I just read that yesterday, it was so good! I love all his books so much.
I can’t wait for him to release a new one! Did you know that they are making Inferno into a movie??
you are SO lucky to have found such great Lily stuff at Target! I am totally jealous. I love the hammock and can’t wait to see the pillows. Good luck.
I can understand why kidlets would like the Peeps milk but Oh my I can’t even imagine it!
It’s supposed to be really nice this weekend so hopefully you get lots of family fun in this weekend.
Can’t wait to see your finished sewing project!
To repurpose every bit of lilly fabric is pure genius. I can not wait to see your pillows!!
We have been brutalized by allergens this year. I think im the most sick. And my sleep according to my fitness tracker is btwn 2-4 hours restful sleep a night. But truthfully i prefer it to be me over my kids to get hit hardest. I hate to see them suffer.
Where do you get your ideas to do things so beautifully in your home? The background to all of your pics is always so perfect. I feel like when it comes to home decor, i just can not put anything together right at all. I think this year im focusing to make a more beautiful deck/outdoor arrangement.
I do like the peeps milk, but it is way to strong to drink plain. I usually do 1/2 peeps & 1/2 skim milk to drink plain, or I just add a small amount to my coffee or tea in place of sugar & milk. Since it is only out for a limited time I picked up several containers for $1 the day after Easter (yay Easter sales) and put it in the freezer so I can have some later too.
Where did you find Peeps milk?? I’m so sad that I hadn’t heard of it before. I probably won’t be able to find it now. My husband likes the marshmallow syrup from Starbucks, I think this would have been great for his homemade coffee!
Great job finding the Lily stuff! I’m impressed!
I wanted to mention on a previous post your hubby going to Korea but didn’t have time when I read it. 🙂
My hubby just got back a few weeks ago (also for a National Guard thing). It was an awesome experience! On another note, if you are interested. He brought me home tons of Korean skincare from a place called “it’s skin” in Seoul. It is located in the district of Myeongnyun just northeast of downtown. It is about 4 subway stops away from Yongsan. 🙂
I can’t wait to see the pillows!
It’s a work in progress 😉
oh did you buy the stand too? I just bought the hammock today. Can’t wait to see the pillows I might need to copy your idea 🙂
No, I just got a different (aka cheaper) stand!!
where did you get your stand from? Yeah I saw the $150 price tag for the stand and couldn’t do it. I’m still looking around for one
I just got one from Home Depot for about half the price! Just make sure it fits a double hammock!
If you have an “At Home” (Garden Ridge) store near you, they have really good prices on home decor, including hammock stands. I need to find something compatible with my ENO doublenest, though I’ll probably just use it camping/hiking and use my cheapo portable stand/hammock from amazon in my backyard until I move my wall out and can use the 2 perfectly spaced, huge trees in my yard.
The peeps milk sounds very interesting.
I’m going to wash my mom’s car for her, do some grocery shopping, dust & vaccum my room and then spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and watching sporting events. I’m currently reading 99 Days by Katie Cotugno. I read her debut novel, How To Love, last year and it was such an amazing book.
Interesting is a good word for it!
thanks! I’ll look today 🙂
