Citrus Lane May 2015 Subscription Box Review (5 Year-Old Boy)

Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. It’s $29/month, but they always have great coupon codes that let you try them out very inexpensively.  I receive a box for WB (boy) who just turned 3 and a box for a 5 year-old boy as well.  This is WB’s box – I haven’t received my other box yet. This is the 5 year-old box.

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive.  I generally receive my box between the 15th and 20th of the month.  If I happen to receive it before the 15th I just consider myself very lucky!

First Look

What a great first look!  I knew this was going to be a fantastic box the minute I opened it.

The Information Card

The May 2015 Citrus Lane was full of the following items to spark creativity and help take advantage of the great outdoors:

~Binoculars from Melissa & Doug ($6.99): WB has been wearing these since we opened the box today.  I don’t really know if he “gets” them, but he likes them.  They would likely work much better if he used them to look at things far away instead of trying to look at something two feet in front of him.

~Imagine I Can from Manhattan Toy Co. ($14.90): This little kit has everything you need to pretend you are a pirate!  And, as luck would have it, we received a pirate dress-up outfit in another box so now both boys are set.  I love the little tin box this all comes in too!

~Portions to Go from Goodbyn (~$12): I couldn’t find this exact set for sale online in the states (I did find it on sale in NZ though) so I had to estimate the price. WB has made me fill up the containers multiple times now and has also made me take the lids on and off about a dozen times.  He’s obsessed.  I suspect he will be having his lunch in this tomorrow.  We have always been big fans of Goodbyn and they are great quality products.

~Sunscreen Bands from Sunburn Alert (~$4): I have never tried these before, but they seem pretty neat.  They are designed to help you remember to reapply sunscreen and let you know when it’s time to get out of the sun.  We will for sure use these this summer.  I know L will LOVE these.  He’s super serious about his sunscreen application!

All totaled I came up with a value of $37.89 for the May 2015 Citrus Lane box.  I absolutely loved this box.  We will use everything in it and I really think they did a great job with their selections this box.
