Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces. If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything! Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix. You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.
My May 2015 Stitch Fix shipped via USPS out of Indiana.
You never know what Stitch Fix is going to send. I mean, you enter your preferences so if you said you hated skirts, they aren’t sending skirts, but they have such a wide variety of prints and styles they send out.
Each Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items). Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $376 and had I kept everything, I would have had to pay $267 (plus my $20 styling fee and that is taking into account the 25% discount you get for buying all of the pieces). Here are the pieces I received:
~Moda Luxe Brooks Crossbody Bag ($58): I don’t know if it’s the exact same bag or not, but there is a Moda Luxe bag on Target.com that looks just like this for $39.99. While I love the color of this bag and the leather is fabulous, I’ve never been a fan of the crossbody style. And if I was I would just snag the Target one for less. Verdict: Returned.
~Loveappella Katella Sporty Knit Top ($58): I believe this is the first athletic type shirt I have received from Stitch Fix. It’s long (which I love) and stretchy and I like the color a lot. Verdict: Kept
~Moon Collection Bailee Cowl Neck Knit Poncho ($58): I’ve never worn a poncho, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It’s super soft and I like the color, but I don’t really have a need for a poncho at this time of the year. At least I hope I don’t need it this summer. 😉 Verdict: Returned.
~DL1961 Hillary Skinny Jean ($164): Happily I don’t really like these because I don’t want to pay $164 for jeans right now. On the right person I suspect these would be fabulous. On me? Nope. Skinny jeans do me NO favors unless worn with boots (and even then they really don’t) and it’s not boot season right now. And I don’t love those zippers. Verdict: Returned.
~Fun2Fun Sonoma Striped Sleeveless Top ($38): I really like this. The material is thin – almost sheer, but it’s not see-through. I think one of the main reasons I love it is because it’s Detroit Tigers colors! Verdict: Kept
I ended up keeping two items from this month’s Fix which is pretty good. I always want to (sort of) keep them all so I can get that 25% off discount, but then again it’s best that I don’t! I wonder if Stitch Fix has ever toyed with the idea of a tiered discount? Like 20% off if you keep 3 pieces, 25% off if you keep 4 and 30% off if you keep 5. That would be amazing!

eeeeeeek i love the poncho! i am hoping i get one like it in mine. i would keep! i love ponchos.
I tried Stitch Fix for 3 “fixes” and never once got anything I wanted to keep. Out of all of it, there was one really lovely top that I liked, but sadly it didn’t fit. I am really hoping Wantable’s service is better. Stitch Fix seems to have a thing for skinny jeans/pants also. I specifically put in my profile that I did not need skinny jeans or pants, and they sent me a pair with 2 out of my 3 fixes anyway. I know people who like this service a lot, but they seem to be kind of a one trick pony to me.
Kaye, I hate you had that experience! You can see from my reviews of Stitch Fix that I am NOT the skinny jean kinda gal. Not at all! It did take a couple fixes to establish a good relationship with my stylist. But now we are definitely on the same page. Did you use Pinterest to pin styles you liked?

Oh my those zippers. They remind me of jeans I wore in the early 90s that were all zippered or pegged. LOL
LOVE the Sonoma striped top! So cute! Just got my fix as well for May – http://www.livegrowwrite.com/may-stitch-fix-review/ It was AMAZING! As usual. I might need to add that Sonoma top to my list for June 😉
I love stitch fix! I just received my 3rd fix, its very addicting! My stylist Ally has done a pretty good job and I’ve been tempted to keep all 5 items every time! Do you ask for specific items or do you just let your stylist surprise you? You always seem to get such great stuff! Also have you requested to keep your same stylist, or do you have a different stylist each time?
