Austin Lloyd recently announced that they were discontinuing their subscription box service, but they do still offer Mystery Boxes. If you aren’t familiar with them, they offer educational toys and books for your children up to age 3. Each Mystery Box ($35//box) promises to contain 3 toys and one book and are available in the following play levels: 0-5 months, 6-12 months, 13-18 months, 19-24 months, 2 years and 3 years. I opted for the 3 year box for WB (who turned 3 in April).
My Austin Lloyd Mystery Box shipped via USPS Priority Mail. I ordered it on the 4th and it arrived on the 10th which is pretty good if you ask me.
I previously subscribed to Austin Lloyd so while I hoped I wouldn’t get any repeats I wouldn’t have been surprised if I did. Happily though, the first look was all new stuff! Here is what the 3 year-old Austin Lloyd Mystery Box included:
~HABA Sand Toys ($6.99): We love sand toys! The more the better too. They get gross and they crack so we rotate them out quite frequently in the summer. These are pretty sturdy though and might actually last us all summer.
~Hape Lacing Peacock ($14.99): Austin Lloyd always sends such high quality toys. We don’t have this Lacing Peacock yet and we already love it. It’ll last for ages and will probably be something I save for my grandkids.
~Plan Toys Lacing Sheep ($20): Love this guy! WB and I immediately put to together and I was thrilled when I realized they color coded the pieces so you can easily get it back together. We have a few stacking toys that I still can’t figure out if I am putting back in the right order. This is easy because the inside of the pieces have colors on them so you match up the red side of one piece with the red side of the next piece and so on!
~The Countryside Game Book ($11.65): This book has no words and instead just lets kids make up their own stories! It’s very cute and we don’t have one like it so I am happy.
All totaled I came up with a value of $53.63 for the Austin Lloyd Mystery Box. I think it was well worth the price tag and will be ordering these every few months or so. I actually like these Mystery Boxes even better than their monthly subscription!
The 19-24 month Mystery Box is sold out, but the remaining boxes are still available for $35.99 each! If you have gotten one, what did you receive in it?
