This review is on the the Men’s Better Half Box, but I also have a review coming on the Ladies box. You can select your box preference at checkout and there is a questionnaire that asks your birthday, anniversary, etc. because they do send special boxes for those occasions.
This was my first ever seeing a Better Half Box and I was already excited about it. It’s always extra exciting to open up the first box from a brand new subscription company.
The June 2015 Better Half Box (Men’s) theme was “Casino Royale” and included the following items:
~USB Pen (Exclusive): I thought this was just a “regular” pen and was thinking how lame it was that they sent a boring pen in a box. But it has a built in USB! A 4GB USB. It’s easy to carry around and you’ll never have to worry about not having your data with you.
~Chocolate Poker Chips (Exclusive): The odds of B actually seeing these in person are slim (okay none). The kids will be claiming them as their own as soon as they see them!
~Money Soap by Virginia Candle Company ($10.99): I am kind of (okay totally) obsessed with this soap. It’s kind of like a prize candle, except it’s soap and instead of jewelry or a ring inside, this one has money! It could be $1, $5, $10, $20 or even $50! My cousin received one of these for Christmas and I have been meaning to get one for L for a while now. I’ll consider it a last birthday present. He’ll get such a kick out of it.
~World Series of Poker Playing Cards ($3.99): Well every good casino night does need a deck of cards doesn’t it?
~Las Vegas Shot Glass (~$5): Another Vegas / gambling essential. Shots. LOL! I am sure B will use for his monthly poker nights. I used to have a ton of shot glasses, but do I know where they all are now? Nope.
~Air Force Aviator Sunglasses: I can’t locate these online, but I love them. I love when B wears aviators and cannot wait to see him in these. The information card recommends using them while playing poker too so you can hide your eyes.
~Chicks Dig Me BBQ Sauce by BourbonQ ($6.99): The name of this alone cracks me up! It’s a Mango Chipotle flavor and works with just about everything – fish, meat or poultry.
~Shea & Vitamin E Lip Balm by Jack Black ($7.50): Jack Black is a fantastic brand and this is a great lip balm. B’s gotten it in the past and (of course) I tested it out for myself. It doesn’t leave your lips all shiny – just soft.
I couldn’t find prices for everything online, so I was unable to do a cost breakdown on it. I think it was well worth the $39.99 price tag though (and an even better value at $29.99 which is the price with the coupon code) and I loved the variety of items they sent out. It felt a bit like a Men’s version of POPSUGAR or FabFitFun!
