FrenchBox is a subscription box that you receive every other month in your mailbox. It contains at least 5 French products: fashion, cosmetics, gourmet, accessories and other surprises! FrenchBox is the best way to discover or share the latest products from France. This is the FrenchBox that has been sent out since their February box disaster. I think that’s a fair choice of words for it. They wanted to take some time off to regroup and clean up their business model and make sure that they got back on track.
FrenchBox ships via USPS Priority Mail and takes just a few days to arrive.
FrenchBox boxes themselves are great. They are sturdy and high-quality and very pretty,
After that long break (and price increase) I was anxious to see what this box would contain. The first look didn’t real much though!
FrenchBox no longer includes a hard copy information card in their monthly box. Instead they send it via e-mail to all subscribers. I preferred the paper version, but that’s just me. The May 2015 FrenchBox contained the following items:
~FAB&CO Soap (Lavender & Milk) ($8): I love the smell of the soap I received! It’s not too strong and it’s something either B and I can use.
~Institut Karité Paris Lip Gloss ($14): According to the FrenchBox website, this product was launched in France in May 2015 and is a U.S. exclusive from FrenchBox! And I love it. It’s moisturizing and the color is awesome. This is exactly the kind of item I can’t to see in FrenchBox!
~Marilou Bio Organic Night Cream ($8.95): This is an organic night cream that works to repair your skin while you sleep. I really have been trying not to switch up my skincare products so often so I will have to wait on this one.
~PAYOT Almonds & Pistachio Body Scrub ($4): This smells insane. I love the smell of almonds so it’s not a surprise I love this. I want the full size just because of the smell!
~Authentic French Riviera Postcard ($10): According to FrenchBox, these postcards date from 1900 to 1960. I think it’s a really cool item and might frame mine and put it in my office somewhere.
~Palme d’or Bookmark ($8.90): I wouldn’t pay $9 for this bookmark, but I’ll use it! And I think it’s pretty.
~French 35 mm Film Keychain ($8): I love the story behind this! Each keychain has a 35mm film strip in it which was shown in a French classroom between the 1940s and 1960s. I looked mine up and my film was “Notre empire – colonies dispersees”, which I don’t think I would have enjoyed when I was in school. LOL. Still I appreciate the thoughtfulness and uniqueness of this item.
All totaled I came up with a value of $61.85 for the May 2015 FrenchBox. I thought this box was quite thoughtful and well curated, but I am not sure I love the new $36 price point. I think this would have been a great box at the old $24/month price point, but for $36 I just don’t know! I plan on seeing how July is and then making a decision from there.
